About the position

Prosocial Design Network (PDN) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit committed to building a better Internet by connecting research to practice. The Communications & Community Lead will work closely with our Managing Director to envision, manage and produce our communications with stakeholders and to build and support our community of researchers and tech professionals dedicated to prosocial design. • Manage and craft PDN's monthly newsletter
  • Manage and build PDN's social media presence
  • Support our Slack community of researchers, tech professionals and advocates working to build healthier online spaces, including onboarding new members
  • Design and execute a communications strategy that grows awareness of our resources and more broadly socializes the critical role that prosocial design and practice-informed research plays in creating healthy digital spaces. Such a strategy could include co-authoring blog posts, reports, etc..
  • Work with our Managing Director to align all of PDN's activities and communications to promote evidence-based online solutions

To apply

Please send a cover letter, CV, and writing sample to julia@prosocialdesign.org by October 22, 2025.

Note on location: Candidates do not need to be US based. We are a global network and have had success working with fellows across 15 time zones. Because one candidate asked - and for full transparency (a prosocial principle!) -  we should also add that if we find ourselves with two equally fantastic candidates we might lean toward one who is comfortable traveling, should we have the (very) occasional in person convenings. But, again, that's a tip-the-balance kind of thing.
