Responses to last week’s discussion about the frequency in which we would like to see new cards and expansions be added to Hearthstone.

Listener Ricky commented on Youtube and plenty of other listeners have emailed and tweeted at us, well mostly myself, disagreeing with my desire for new cards every 3 months.

Things I should have taken into account last week that got shuffled under my ravenous hunger for new cards. Team 5 is pretty small compared to say Wizards, they're probably working very hard on getting an observer mode up and running, play-testing the hell out of Naxx, wouldn’t be surprised to see them shifting focus to getting a DND mode up and running after the DreamHack fiasco, and so on. All of this has got to be cutting in on the time it takes to design new sets.

Yong Woo and the Gummy Bear controversy

Also, July 15th is not a leaked Naxx release based on Yong Woo’s tweet. Yong came out and said that it is not a hint and he was just talking about eating a giant gummy bear.

Hearthstone World Championship Qualified Players

Qualified players for the Blizzcon tournament have been posted for both US and EU regions

Tash Note: take note that players from The Angry Chicken's previous [completely out of date] tournament have qualified, which indicates a clear correlation between competing in TAC tournaments and qualifying for $250,000 tournaments.”

Decklists from last week’s DreamHack are up all over the place

I REALLY want a Al’Akir cause these Shaman decks look fun as hell.

GarDilLyn,

Love your podcast!

On EP. 34, you spoke critically about the judges' decision to award the win to RDU.  Dills suggested that replaying the round might be a better decision.  I disagree.  That is to say, either plan is equally bad.  If the judges had forced a replay of the round, it would have created a poison pill opportunity, in which a losing game state can be reset by having a friend chat something prohibited.

The only solution, as I think you all acknowledge, is finding some way to kill chat altogether from anyone who can view both hands without sufficient delay.

Hi Tachyons,

Whenever someone says they "only" got five wins in Arena, I cringe a little.

Arena is zero-sum game. Every time someone wins, another person must lose. The average number of games won across all Arena games played by all players has to be three. Or put another way, for every 12-win run by Dills, a lot of other people are getting 0, 1, or 2 wins.

So: Hold your head high, people getting three or more wins! You are already beating the average! How many tens of thousands of Arena players are there? You are beating half of these people!

Greetings from Australia!

Taylor

Hey cluckers. I was curious if a card was ever discussed where it's active effect was to cancel all battlecries, deathrattles, taunts, etc. while it was in play. Blizzard could go about making multiple cards where each one disables certain abilities. I would love to hear your thoughts.
