COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN (CSIP)
Dear Fox C-6 Family,
Earlier this month, I welcomed everyone back to the start of a new semester. In that letter, I also provided some brief updates about the exciting initiatives we have underway in our district. These efforts are all designed to provide more opportunities for our students and are a direct result of last year’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) process. If you have not looked at this plan in detail, I encourage you to do so by visiting www.fox.k12.mo.us/fox_focus.
Throughout our work on implementing this plan, I am often reminded of a quote by Carol Commodore: “What we know today doesn’t make yesterday wrong, but it makes tomorrow better!” We have an amazing staff and community who has worked hard to deliver quality education to our students over the years. Our focus is to do everything we can to continually improve and make tomorrow better for each of our students. As our CSIP tagline states, Fox Focus: Our Children, Our Community, Our Tomorrow!
Now that the semester is underway, I think it is important to provide you with some more detailed updates on two major efforts derived from our CSIP: Sixth Grade Transition and Attendance Boundaries. Last week, the attendance boundary committee met for the final time. Over the past several months, this committee has worked incredibly hard to provide input and feedback on several proposals designed to make adjustments to our attendance boundaries. Now that the work of this committee is complete, the district is prepared to present a final proposal to the Board of Education for approval. This also means that we have additional information about enrollment that will help us finalize staffing decisions for our middle schools. I know all of you are eager for more information on this subject and we are dedicated to sharing information with you as soon as it becomes available.
With that in mind, here are some updates to our Sixth Grade Transition and Attendance Boundaries.
As always, we strive to be proactive in our communications and communicate as soon as we have information to share. With the boundary adjustment proposal in its final stages, I wanted to update you on our progress toward meeting CSIP goals. I know there are still several questions remaining, but as soon as we finalize details, we will continue to communicate with all of our stakeholders.
In the meantime, I encourage you to reach out to us if you have any questions about these or other topics. You can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call Central Office at 636-296-8000. Please remember that we also have a Town Hall meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Antonia Middle School beginning at 7:00 PM.
These adjustments will provide much needed opportunities for our students and we appreciate your support and patience as we work together to provide for our students.
