1. How do we use a Mehen gold find formation?

We use a combination of Mehens grumpy stacks and Makos bombing, Sgt. Knox paired with Makos greatly increases Makos’ gold find when he lands a killing blow..

2. Makos is not working for me, what am I doing wrong?

We can use Makos’ immolation feat to make our lives a lot easier. Else see below.
We use Makos’ ultimate so that makos is able to land the killing blow, allowing the killed enemies to drop gold, sometimes this does not work straight away. It's a good idea to have some extra BUD that will allow you to sit on a zone long enough for Makos’ ult to actually land the killing blow, so if you are at your wall and you don't have enough BUD to sit and wait for Makos to hit, go back a few zones until you have enough extra BUD so that you can sit and allow Makos to have enough time to land his ultimate.

3. Is getting grumpy stacks worth dropping gold find champs?

No, we want to keep as many gold find champs as we can in the formation, but we also want to get as many grumpy stacks as we can get. If the cost of the additional grumpy stack results in a net loss of gold find, then the grumpy stack is not worth it.

4. Are there any champs I need to stack when I'm clearing zones?

You may want to use Freely for his Adventurous Tale ability, put him in your speed team from z1 so he is able to build stacks as you climb to your wall.

Dob is also a champion you may use instead of Penelope, he will also need to be in your speed team from z1 to build up his stacks.

5. Is there a quick way to stack Penelope?

Yes, please see this link for a video on how to stack Penelope fast. For adventures lacking armored bosses there is also the lazy/idle method of stacking Penelope.

6. Is there a way to calculate how many timegates I need to get to a certain favour?

7. Do I need to invest item levels into Valentine?

In order to achieve the Mehen stack for his neighbors having an average attack speed of 5 or less, Valentine formations place Merilwen next to Makos and Valentine so that Valentine's socialite scaling will increase the strength of Merilwen's buff. Makos attack speed can be reduced from 5.7 seconds all the way down to 1.43 seconds via this method. While the exact item level required for Valentine to give Makos a speed of 1.5 seconds is not known, thanks to Willow we know that the value is 399 or less. If your Valentine has a lower item level, using Merilwen's right spec instead of middle spec may be enough to get you the Mehen stack.
