2025 Delta Green Shotgun Scenario Contest

This contest is dedicated to the humble red dot, laser, and buckshot modifiers that make turn even the least proficient agent into a killing machine in Delta Green

Scenario Submissions are OPEN

The Star Chamber is CLOSED

A shotgun scenario is a short, ultra-condensed, super-lean, word-limited Delta Green scenario. Every year, starting back on the Delta Green Mailing List, there’s been a contest for shotgun scenarios. For a lengthy set of examples, check out The Fairfield Project’s Shotgun Scenarios page. The 2020 contest had a record breaking 75 scenario submissions. We almost beat that record with 71 in 2023. Then we shattered it with 84 in 2024...What can we do this year?

Note: This contest isn’t associated with the Night At The Opera Discord/Subreddit. You can contact me with questions or concerns via e-mail elendil004@gmail.com or on discord as Elendil004.

Contest Rules:

  • Entries must be 1500 words or less. Entries over 1500 words will not be accepted, but will be kicked back for authors to fix before the deadline. Word count (words as defined by Google’s word count tool) starts from the first text on the first page after the TITLE of the scenario to the last text before STAT BLOCKS at the end of the document. (A table of contents is ok, and won’t count against you)
  • Stat blocks must be at the end of the document to not count against word limit.
  • Entries with scenario/narrative text “hidden” in stat blocks will be kicked back for editing.
  • You may submit as many scenarios as you wish.
  • Submissions are no longer anonymous. If you have a pressing reason you need anonymity please reach out but by default authors will be known. This means you can include your name in your scenario. Go wild playtesting and soliciting feedback and making your shotgun the best it can be.
  • Do not submit AI generated scenarios. Scenarios about AI are fine.
  • Entries must be in Google Docs format.
  • To submit an entry, email submissions to elendil004@gmail.com Emails must include:
  • A link to your scenario
  • Make sure it’s shared so anyone with the link can view
  • A title and short, one sentence teaser description
  • How you would like to be credited
  • Note: You will receive a reply that your scenario has been processed, this might take a day or two, but after 72 hours if you haven’t heard, please reach out and confirm that I received your scenario.
  • Note: Don’t just share your scenario document through the Google Docs interface, I won’t see those messages and they won’t contain the required information. Seriously, I do not see submissions shared this way yours will be missed and you will ponder it in obscurity.

Need help playtesting? The Star Chamber playtest program will pair your meager scenario offering with hungry players and bloodthirsty handlers to give you the feedback to improve.

Submissions: All submissions will be archived and linked in this document and on the Fairfield Project. Submissions must be received by December 15th, 1200 (noon) Eastern US time. Voting will run from the close of the contest until December 31st at 1200 (noon) Eastern US time.

Voting: Voting will be done via a Google poll which will require you to authenticate with a google account. Like with submissions, if for some reason you are unable to do this, reach out and we’ll discuss reasonable accommodations.
