Who: Rising high school Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors

Open to any male student who has completed their junior year and resides in PA.  Student practice and operate fictitious cities, four counties and one state, based on the statutes and codes of the State of PA.  This program is held, June 18-24, 2017, at Shippensburg University.  Local Legion posts will sponsor the students to attend. More information available in the Guidance Office.  There is also a Keystone Girls State, contact an auxiliary unit for more information.

The week’s tuition of $175.00 is paid by an American Legion Post.

Open to high school freshman, sophomores, and juniors, Creek Camp is a great experience for students who are interested in studying environmental science in college, or those who simply love the outdoors.

If you are a high school student with a strong interest in the visual arts, SoVA’s Summer Art Camp is for you.

The camp, Portfolio Thinking, will take place June 25 - 30, 2017 at the University Park campus. Open to students entering grades 9 through 12 (and just-graduated seniors). The camp will provide an intensive residential studio workshop program across various art media.  Priority will be given to applications received by April 1, 2017.

SoVA recognizes that not all students with an interest in attending the camp can afford to participate. To help address this we are offering a small number of partial and full-tuition scholarships. You should include a recommendation from your high school art teacher when submitting your application.   • Accounting Career Awareness Program at Point Park University

      Applications are now being accepted for ACAP,

    a FREE, in-residence summer camp for minority high school students who wish to explore the pursuit of a college degree in accounting and/or business.

                      Camp dates are June 25 to June 30, 2017.

      ACAP: What YOU Need to Know

  • Applications will be accepted through May 19, 2017.
  • Qualified students will hold a 3.0 GPA or higher, and be a sophomore, junior, or senior in high school.
  • The location is Point Park University, Pittsburgh, PA.
  • Room and board, field trips to local accounting firms, special evening activities, and a closing dinner for students and guests are all included free of cost thanks to our generous sponsors!
  • Students will spend the week learning about opportunities for careers in accounting and other business fields.
  • Students will have a lot of fun participating in activities around Pittsburgh, like Fun Fest and taking a trip to Kennywood Amusement Park.

July 2017

The cost of this program is offset by generous alumni contributions to bring this year's total cost to only $400 for courses, housing, meals and student activities for a two full weeks from July 9-22, 2017.   We hope this very low cost will encourage participation from students who might otherwise not be in a position to afford this type of academic experience.

The application deadline is May 1, 2017.

Acceptance decisions and course placement notifications will go out by May 15th, 2017.

Creek Campers:

Penn State College of Communications has three exciting opportunities for your high school students to participate in weeklong communications summer camps this July!

Campers have the option of choosing one of the following camps: Broadcast Journalism Camp, Multimedia Journalism Camp or Film Camp. Campers will stay in dorms on the University Park campus throughout the week (July 9-14), enjoy meals in campus dining halls and work on creative projects taught by Penn State faculty members.

The College of Communications summer camps are perfect for students interested in school newspaper, television broadcasts, yearbook, writing, filming and theater. Summer College for high school students offers a broad range of 2-, 3-, 4- and 6-week programs that represent the various colleges Syracuse University.

Summer College offers a variety of programs ranging from architecture to web design. Our goal is to make sure we’re offering programs that reflect the richness and diversity of the majors and minors at Syracuse University. We have credit and noncredit programs that run at different lengths.

The NYU School of Professional Studies High School Academy Career Edge program offers high school students the opportunity to live and learn in the heart of New York City, the cultural and financial capital of the world.

One-week, professionally oriented intensive programs of study allow you to explore career options. Our courses immerse you in an industry and allow you to gain a comprehensive view of a career path that interests you. Group projects, guest lecturers, and field trips help to enrich the classroom experience. Each course culminates with the creation of a project that can be added to your college portfolio.

To apply, you must have successfully completed grades 9, 10, or 11, and must submit an application. In addition, you must submit an official high school transcript and a 250-word essay.

            This is a summer workshop on design and fabrication 

                            July 10, 2017 - August 4, 2017

This is a four-week “design and build” program for high school students entering grade 10

and above, called SummerFAB. Participants can stay on campus or commute to Wentworth on a daily basis. Students who successfully complete the program and later enroll in our Architecture program can use SummerFAB to replace a four-credit elective course in Architecture. Graduates of SummerFAB will also be eligible to receive a one-time $2000 tuition scholarship toward their freshman year tuition at Wentworth.
