Hunting and Food

Native Americans mostly ate buffalo meat. They hunted buffalo and deer. They used bows and arrows.

When they killed a buffalo and there was left over’s after the meat and hide were used, they would use this for decorations.

When Native American boys were ten they were allowed to hunt their first buffalo. If a warrior was really brave he could wear a bear claw.

Native Americans only killed what they needed. They didn’t waste anything or hunt for fun.

The Europeans killed most of the buffalo and wasted the meat and hides.
