Welcome to George Lee School
George Lee BOOK SWAP!
Get Ready for Summer Reading!
Do you have a book that you aren’t reading anymore? Would you like to trade it for some “new to you” summer reading? If so, please participate in our Summer Reading Book Swap!
When? Wednesday, June 14th (during school hours). Classes will sign up for a visit to the book swap!
Where? The George Lee Library
Why? To get “new to you” reading material in your hands for summer!
How does it work? Bring a book or two (or as many as you want) that are in good condition. For each book you bring, you will be allowed to choose a book to take home. So if you bring 5 books, you can take home 5 books.
Please start bringing your books to school as soon as possible. Your teacher will record the number of books you brought! If you wish to bring more books than you want to take, the leftover books will be donated!
Thank you for participating in our Summer Reading Book Swap!

Kindergarten Registrations for 2017-2018:
George Lee School is now accepting Kindergarten registrations for the 2017-2018 school year. If your son or daughter will be five by December 31, 2017 he or she is eligible to attend Kindergarten in the fall of 2017.
We invite you to call the school at (306) 791-8510 or drop by to register your child for the fall (September 2017) term. At that time, you will be asked to provide us with general registration information (Name, Address, Phone Number, Parents’ Names, Child’s Date of Birth, …) regarding your son or daughter.
We are planning special activities for our new kindergarten students and we hope that both you and your child will take part in our Orientation activities. We are going to hold a Kindergarten Parents’ Orientation Meeting on Thursday, June 1st at 4:00 pm in the Resource Centre. We are also inviting our new Kindergarten students to join us for a short bus orientation on Thursday, June 8th from 2:15 - 3:00pm. We will also hold a classroom visit on Friday, June 16th from 2:15 - 3:15pm. We are asking that you please call the school at (306) 791-8510 to RSVP by May 30th. We also ask that you please stay with your child during these visits. Please feel free to call us if you have any questions.
From the Office
Did you know that we are now using online permission forms? Please use the Online Payments button on the left side bar of the website to pay for school fees, as well as give permission for your child to attend a classroom field trip. If you are having problems accessing this online option, feel free to call (306) 791-8510, or stop in at the office and Mrs. Hamilton can help get you set up.
Just a reminder to all parents/guardians that Parent Portal is up and running. This is a great tool to give you access to your child’s grades, attendance, grade history and teacher comments. You also have the option of receiving email notifications daily, weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. This is especially important this year as we have moved to having only two reporting periods. This is an invaluable tool to help keep you informed of your child’s progress!
If you still need your child’s access ID and password you must come into the school and visit the office to receive this information. Unfortunately, we are not able to send this information home with your child or provide it over the phone; we must hand it to the parent/guardian directly.
