Trunk Box Cover

  

 

 The Trunk Box Cover is a large piece that sits in front of the Trunk box and and houses the battery.

It can be removed easily by undoing just a few screws.

 

Step

Description

1.

Remove the battery cover 

  • Remove the battery cover plastic push-in pin
  • Lift and remove the battery cover

 

 

2.

Remove the Starter Relay and coupler from the battery

  • Disconnect the starter relay connector
  • Disconnect the battery (-) lead from the starter relay
  • Disconnect the battery (+) lead from the starter relay

 

Note: Be careful not to cross the battery leads as they are hot and still connected to the main battery leads.

            Don't panic if you do, you will hear a partial starter start / jump.

3.

Remove the Battery

  • Disconnect the main harness battery leads from the battery as follows:
  • First, disconnect the ( - ) / Ground lead from the battery.  
  • Second, disconnect the ( + ) / Power lead from the battery.
  • Carefully remove the battery.

  

4.

Remove the Trunk Box Cover screws

  • Remove the two trunk box screws with a philipps #2 screw driver
  • Don’t forget to catch the square screw brackets inside the trunk

  

5.

Remove the Trunk Box Cover

  • Reposition the Battery Cables
  • Lift and remove the Trunk Box Cover
