I wrote Beach Planet Bingo quite a while ago, in an effort to explore the direction of questions and biases regarding gender identification. I had no idea then of how far we would come in such a short time. It seems like always being six months ahead of the curve while simultaneously lagging way behind it. This is the nature of science fiction, or as it’s often called today, speculative fiction. I enjoy memories of reading S.F. stories published in the 1950s in which a spaceman would fire up his rocket, then plot his course using a slide rule. It’s a vital genre that can be wonderful at forecasting some things while always getting other things wonderfully wrong. Still, the best of it serves a great purpose in posing the moral issues of our future.

I hope you enjoy Beach Planet Bingo.
