Dear Master,
I am deeply touched by your kind parcel. It is a real pleasure for me to own this photograph and to know your features. One likes to know what the the face of artists whose talent you appreciate looks like.
I am returning to you the proof made after the portrait of Baroness d’Erlanger.[1] The painting will be sent to the address indicated to us by Dicksee,
[Page 2]
the agent of the Beaux-Arts Society in London.
I am keeping the study of the Hungarian peasant [110949]. It is regrettable that its price was not fixed at 1600 francs from the start. But despite people’s departure for the countryside, I will try and make this “bargain” known from any people who were interested in the work.
I am also waiting for an answer for the possible portrait.
Please believe, dear Master, in my best wishes.
Paul Lambotte.

[1] It is unclear to which portrait of the Baronne Emile Beaumont d’Erlanger, née Catherine de Robert d'Aqueria de Rochegude (1874-1959)
the author is referring. For biographical notes on the Baronne see [4352].
