Dear parents,

It was lovely to see your children back today and to hear about how they celebrated Rosh Ha’shana with their families. They have tried hard to share their experiences in Hebrew and I was very pleased and proud to see/hear that! טוב מאוד

We welcomed month Tishrei חודש תשרי and talked about the changes in the weather and the coming season סתו

Our lesson’s topic today was all about the 10 days between Rosh Ha’shaba and Yom Kippur. We had a discussion about what we are doing during this period using words like: Reflection, Tashlich, סליחות, שנה שעברה etc.

להתחיל ברגל ימין…

The children filled in a special reflection worksheet in which they needed to finish the sentence:

השנה אני רוצה…..

They used verbs such as:

להיות (= to be)

לעזור  (=to help)

ללמוד (= to study/to learn)

לעשות (=to do)

לאכול/לשתות (= to eat/ to drink)

And the keywords:

יותר(=more), יותר טוב(=better)

 For Homework:

Please write down the following 6 sentences in script on a piece of paper, and fill in the missing words by choosing the correct ones from the word bank below:

Word Bank:

Dear parents,

What a lovely festive week we had in our class.

It was mostly dedicated to Rosh Ha’shana.

We started the week by finishing our work about Myself מי אני and sharing the information with the class. We revised some script letters which are confusing like ג and ז  and the correct way to write the script letter פ.

The children also finished their notebook cover. What beautiful results Kvutzat Tamar!👌

We learned about Rosh Ha’shana by composing sentences which describe what we are doing in Rosh Ha’shana using verbs we know such as:

אוכלים, שרים, אומרים, לובשים, הולכים,שומעים, נותנים

And the Festival’s keywords.

We wrote all the sentences down in our notebooks.

We picked a class mate name from a box and created for him/her

כרטיס ברכה לראש השנה.

The children handed them out and surprised their friends.

We blessed on the apple and ate together תפוח בדבש.

On Friday, we also started our class routine of announcing the Star of the Week and our class Ruffle!

Well done to all the children for working hard. I wish them a fantastic year in כיתת תמר!

For Homework:

You are welcome to play the Wordwall games related to Rosh Ha’ashana - in  the links below. Enjoy!🍎🍯

Dear parents,

I was very excited to meet all Tamar Class’s students this week.

We have started with an introduction and a revision game saying sentences in Ivrit  using vocabulary learnt in previous years.

We discussed Shtilim's behaviour rules. The children reviewed Shtilim’s ‘Traffic Lights’ management and  they have created their own class rules.

In addition, I have introduced  them to our Ruffle, Class Dojo, Group points and Star of the Week. and we have created a class birthday list.

We had our morning conversations answering to questions such as: איזה יום היום? איזה יום היה אתמול/שלשום? איזה יום יהיה מחר/מחרתיים? And learnt the ‘days of the week song’ שיר ימי השבוע

We continued by asking:

איזה חודש עכשיו? איזה חג בא? מה התאריך העברי היום? איזו עונה עכשיו?

We were describing the weather by answering to the questions:

איך היום בחוץ? מה יש/אין בחוץ?

The children created a beautiful cover to their exercise books and started to write about themselves by filling in the paper work: מי אני?

We will finish it on Monday:)

What fantastic results so far and a great start in כיתת תמר!!!

Kol Ha’kavod👏Keep it up!

There is NO homework this week!

Have a lovely weekend,

Noa נועה
