POLICY on priority of attendance

It is the aim of the HUMMER course and its faculty to provide basic ultrasound knowledge and education to all who are interested, however due to resource constraints and a desire to provide high quality, hands-on training, we are forced to limit our numbers to 8 participants per course. As such, the policy of priority in regards to possible attendees of all HUMMER courses is as follows:

Priority 1: ED staff specialist: as a portion of their TESL funding will be taken to employ the sonographer in the ED. it is imperative we reserve spaces for their learning and benefit.

• 2 of the 8 spots of each course will be held for staff specialist attendees until 10 days before course date. If none are signed up or able to attend, those on waitlist get offer (see point 3)

Priority 2: Snr Registrars in charge of Emergency department overnight:

• 4 spot of the 8 per course will be held for senior registrars until 10 days before the course date. If spots are remaining available, those on the waitlist get offer. (see point 3)

Priority 3: outside doctors, other speciality consultants, registrars, JMOs, RNs etc. 

• All other doctors are encouraged to apply for the particular course/date of their choosing with the understanding that they will be on a WAITLIST and will not know if they are able to attend until 10 days prior to course date.
