Dear Parents of 2nd Grade Skiers,
Our first practice is Tuesday, December 3rd at 3:30 at Oak Hill. We are looking forward to adventuring with your children! We have 15 children, 1 head coach and 4 assistant coaches and parent helpers thus far, so our skier-to-coach ratio will be wonderfully low.
A few important reminders:
Please be careful and slow in the parking lot! It is a crazy place and we all need to be aware.
The 2nd grade group meets to the far right as you look up at the hill from the parking lot. There will be a sign on a post designating the meeting place.
Children should check-in with Kirsten Gleeson the first week. I will be wearing a bright orange hat and jacket.
For dry-land practices, children should wear:
· Sneakers with WOOL socks (NO snow boots please, even if it is wet and somewhat snowy)
· layers (thin, wicking inside layer, then a thin fleece, then a thick fleece, then a wind layer – or any combination depending on the weather)
· non-cotton pants if possible – these children like to get wet and muddy and cotton gets cold when it is wet!
· hat
· gloves
Make sure your child has a hearty snack and water between school and practice.
Make sure all your child’s gear is labeled with his/her name.
Bring a change of clothes for after practice in case your child is wet and cold.
See you at Oak Hill!
Kirsten Gleeson
