Race for World First
Lots of controversy this week between Method and Serenity during the race for World First mythic kill on Gul’dan. Serenity, made up of many previous Method players, is now 9/10.

What’s new on the 7.2 PTR
Crafted Legendary Items
- Several new quests were added in Patch 7.2, including new profession quests! These quests have you collect materials before you can craft the new legendary items.
- The new crafted legendary items currently don't have a proc.
- All of them require 65 x Blood of Sargeras, profession specific materials, legendary materials from the new profession quest line, and a Felessence Legion-Flask.
- The Flask has creation spells in the database, being upgraded from an Empty Felessence Vessel to the Felessence Legion-Flask through Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and finally a legendary version.
- To give you an idea of the difficulty of completing these quest lines:
- Tailors have quests to kill Advisor Vandros, Melandrus, and Elisande.
- Blacksmiths must kill Odyn, Dargul, and Helya.

Artifact Power
CM Aerythlea dove deeper into the new Artifact traits we’ll be unlocking after 7.2 drops.
- Players who have an Artifact Weapon of at least rank 35 will be able to further empower that Artifact through a short quest chain.
- Completing this quest chain will consume any ranks beyond 35, increase the overall power of your Artifact Weapon (to ensure that losing ranks 35+ isn’t a downgrade), and unlock access to the new 7.2 traits.
- Any Artifact Power spent on traits beyond 35 will be refunded and you’ll immediately be able to spend that refunded Artifact Power on the new traits.
- Any Artifact Power tokens acquired before Patch 7.2 will not be usable on an Artifact Weapon that has had its new traits unlocked. If you’ve already reached Rank 54, feel free to use any tokens you earn between now and then on alternate specs; there is no need to stockpile those tokens for Patch 7.2.
- Planning to apply a hotfix in the near future that will allow the current Artifact Power tokens to be sold to vendors.
Hopefully coming this week
- The Broken Shore (you’re able to see a little bit of what we’re planning currently on the PTR, but there’s a lot more story and systems to come)
- New World Quests
- New Artifact Traits (including a short quest line to unlock them)
- The Legionfall faction
- New additions to the Order Hall campaign
Lore
Kael'thas
Kael'thas "Kael" Sunstrider was a senior member of the Kirin Tor and the Prince of Quel'Thalas, the last of the Sunstrider dynasty.
Early Life and formation of the Blood Elves
- Prince Kael'thas was a powerful mage and member of the Six
- During the Third War, Quel’Thalas was sacked by Arthas and his Scourge
- Kael’thas evacuated as many of the high elves as he could, and assumed command of them. He renamed his followers the Blood Elves in memory of their murdered kin
- Silvermoon was destroyed, though Kael was able to recover the skull of his father, and the broken remains of his weapon, Felo’melorn
Hunting for Illidan
- Kael and his forces were stationed in Silverpine Forest as part of the defence of Dalaran.
- It was here he met Maiev Shadowsong and Tyrande Whisperwind, who were hunting for Illidan
- Tyrande was swept away down river as part of an ambush by the undead Scourge, and Maiev refused to look for her but continued the search for Illidan, in spite of Kael’s protests
- They tracked Illidan to Dalaran, where he was using the Eye of Sargeras to attempt to break Northrend apart
- With his spell interrupted, Illidan explained he had been trying to end the threat of the undead and kill the Lich King
- Malfurion and Illidan left in search of Tyrande, while Kael and Maiev were left behind
The Rise of the Blood Elves
- Kael reported back to his superior officer, Grand Marshal Garithos, who disliked all non-human races
- Garithos told Kael of a strike force heading to Dalaran, and that he was going to head them off in the mountains. Kael volunteered his forces to help, but Garithos refused. Instead, he sent the Blood Elves to repair the observatories in order to verify the approach of a force from the East
- The shipyard at Lordamere Lake had been destroyed, so the elves had no way to cross
- Lady Vashj, a naga, offered them help in the form of boats, citing their common ancestry, so they could access the observatories
- Garithos returned, and condemned Kael for allying with the Naga calling it treason, even though they were no threat to the Alliance
- Garithos returned to the front, sending an emissary telling Kael that an undead force was detected
- Garithos had recalled all non-elven forces with him, leaving Kael and the Blood Elves alone
- They were quickly overrun, and would have died had Lady Vashj not intervened again, reinforcing the Blood Elves with her Naga forces
- After the battle, Lady Vashj explained to Kael about the Naga’s addiction to magic, and that the same thing was happening to the Blood Elves without the Sunwell. She warned him that without a source of magical energy, his people would suffer fatal withdrawal
- Kael heard Garithos approaching, and told Vashj to flee, but they had been spotted. Garithos charged the Blood Elves with treason and locked them in the dungeons of Dalaran
- Vashj entered Dalaran through the sewers and freed Kael and his fellow elves, using Kel’Thuzad’s portal, with Illidan waiting on the other side. They were barely able to escape.
- They arrived on Hellfire Peninsula, rescued Illidan from Maiev, who filled them in on Outland
- Illidan had fled Kil'jaeden after his unsuccessful attempt at killing the Lich King
- Kael pledged his loyalty to Illidan after he promised to provide the Blood Elves with all the magical energy they would ever need to sustain themselves
- Together, Illidan, Kael, Vashj, and their new ally Akama sought to overthrow Magtheridon, a pit lord who was controlling Outland from his throne in the Black Temple. After their victory, Kil’jaeden appeared and gave Illidan one last chance to redeem himself by killing the Lich King
Attack on Northrend
- Kael and his Blood Elves marched on Northrend, slowly beating back Anub’arak and his race
- Arthas also arrived in Northrend with an undead army, determined to reach the Frozen Throne
- They faced off against each other several times, but the ultimate battle was between Illidan and Arthas
- Arthas got the better of Illidan, and as Arthas rose to claim the throne, Kael and Vashj rescued Illidan and fled back to Outland
The Burning Crusade
- The Blood Elves on Azeroth had been abandoned by the Alliance, and so joined forces with the Horde in an effort to reach Outland and claim the destiny Kael promised them
- Kael’thas claimed Tempest Keep in Netherstorm as his base of power in Outland, and slowly began turning his back on Illidan
- The Scryers, Blood Elves who came to Outland to find Kael but who devote their lives to A’dal upon arriving in Shattrath, uncover the fact that Kael’thas entered into a pact with the Burning Legion, choosing to side with them over Illidan as Illidan became more and more obsessed with his own plans, stopped trusting his allies, and seemed to descend into madness
- They continued to fight against Kael’thas and his Sunfury Blood Elves, along with many other Blood Elven adventurers
- Kael’thas was beaten at Tempest Keep, but warned all in Shattrath that he was not truly defeated and that Kil’jaeden would return
- He returned to Azeroth, though he had a crystal lodged in his chest and one of his Verdant Spheres, orbs that siphon the essence of those a blood elf has vanquished, was missing
- Using the power he collected in Netherstorm, Kael attempted to reinvigorate the Sunwell, though not in order to save his people. He hoped that the new Sunwell could be used to summon forth Kil’jaeden, like the Well of Eternity had been a portal for demons 10,000 years earlier
- Kael and his felblood elves assaulted the Blood Knight headquarters in Silvermoon and captured the naaru M'uru, taking the weakened naaru to the Sunwell Plateau
- Lady Liadrin, leader of the Blood Knights broke off ties with the House of Sunstrider and swore allegiance to the Sha'tar and the Shattered Sun Offensive
- Kael’thas was finally killed in Magister’s Terrace, his mind warped by power and the Burning Legion, never seeing the Sunwell reignited

Hello fellow Azerothians
A few months back, a friend and myself were discussing the future of Warcraft and where it might go after the Legion is dealt with. I hope we end up exploring more worlds and run into new stories, environments, and characters. Basically, I'd like to explore a bit more of the "universe" instead of just dealing with the same or similar problems.
One way to do this could be making a Warcraft single player RPG, along the lines of Dark Souls, the Witcher, and Skyrim. As you know, Blizzard tends to have a knack for finding the fun in any type of game they put their hands on so they shouldn't have much trouble making it engaging.
This game could take place a couple hundred years in the future and we'd run into new problems and people, new stories. I understand all this would involve a lot of work, but Warcrafts universe has so much potential that I'd love to explore some more of it. That and I'd love to see so many places to be really fleshed out (imagine a fully detailed and almost life-like Lordaeron, Silvermoon, and maybe Ebon Hold?). Not only that, but also going all-out in making the class fantasy that's kind of limited in Wow for balance-sake.
Thanks for reading,
For the Horde! (And Azeroth!)

How long do you think it will be before we're forced to kill Alexstrasza? She's the only original flight leader we haven't slain in some form.
