BASKETBALL
OFFENSIVE PHILOSOPHY
On offense, our main goal is to create as many scoring opportunities as possible. We will be looking to attack the lane in every type of offense we run. In order to obtain maximum efficiency our players must be fundamentally strong. We will place a strong emphasis on taking care of the basketball. We must be able to put the ball in the basket. This is accomplished by working on shooting and creating offense by proper spacing, screening, and movement.
In order to be successful on offense, the following items are of maximum importance.
1. MOVEMENT: Players must be able to run the floor and be in constant
and purposeful movement.
2. SHOT SELECTION: Taking open shots that we all as a team expect to be taken. .
3. STRONG FUNDAMENTALS: Pivoting, passing, triple-threat and
dribbling all must be mastered to run our offense.
4. PENETRATION: We are looking for North/South movement of the
basketball via the dribble or the pass
