ON SNOW NORDIC SKILLS WEEK.
30th March - 6th April 2014
After a year away this year’s course is returning to its old home of Kvitåvatn in Norway where we have run
this course successfully for many years. The combination of excellent cross country ski tracks and the downhill pistes together with the excellent facilities of the Fjellstoge make it the ideal venue.
WHO IS THE COURSE FOR
CROSS COUNTRY SKIERS
The week is designed for cross-country skiers who want to improve their skills whether their interests are in touring, racing or freeheel downhill. Participants should be able to ski at a minimum standard of improver/intermediate level.
For alpine skiers who want to improve their downhill skills by converting to freeheel downhill/telemark, the minimum standard is the ability to perform basic parallel turns on most blue runs on alpine/telemark equipment.
INSTRUCTOR QUALIFICATIONS & REVALIDATION/PROFICIENCY AWARD
Those wishing to be assessed for the Snowsport England Coaching scheme or revalidated for any of the awards. This is subject to there being sufficient numbers to run this course.
THE COURSE AND THE COACHES
This is an intensive coaching week with the emphasis on skills development, so we offer

In the heart of the Telemark ski region and situated at 950 metres, Kvitåvatn is in a perfect location, with 80 km of prepared cross-country skiing tracks through forests and open countryside and excellent off-track touring possibilities in all directions.
Cross country skiing
The area is renowned for Nordic skiing with a network of 80 km of prepared tracks right next to Kvitåvatn Fjellstoge. The tracks run around the lake, through forests and up into the open hills, with a flood lit circuit for evening skiing.

Lists of flights that connect with the Coach transfer - not an exhaustive list.
Unfortunately or maybe fortunately the 30th of March is the first day of the budget airlines summer 2014 season. Therefore at the time of writing (early July 2013) you can buy a flight for the 29th march but not the 30th. Flights for the 30th are expected to go on sale in August or September 2013. So at that time it should be possible to get a bargain.
