Diwali celebration and Dandiya

Join the JHPDA in celebrating the Indian “Festival of Lights,” Diwali! Free Indian food and drinks provided!

This event is for Postdocs only!

When: Thursday, Oct. 27th, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Dinner will be followed by Indian music and Dandiya dancing! Dandiya is a very popular form of group dance and a special feature of the Navratri festival celebrated all over India. It is comprised of very simple steps that one can learn on the spot!

Partnering Toward Discovery Postdoctoral lecture series

The lecture series returns on October 27 and will be followed by a social hour. First talk is “Meningeal Inflammation in Multiple Sclerosis: The Cause of Cortical Grey Matter Pathology in White Matter Demyelinating Disease,” presented by Peter Calabresi and postdoctoral fellows Jennifer Orthmann Murphy and Pavan Bhargava.

Hike Harpers Ferry, Sunday, Oct. 30th

Come hiking with the JHPDA! We will be doing the Maryland Heights trail, which is a steep 5.5 mile circuit with great views. We will leave Baltimore at 9:00 am so we can begin hiking around 10:30. There is a $10 dollar/ car fee for parking. JHPDA can not guarantee transportation, but will assist in arranging car pools.

Research Presentation Club

Come join the Research Presentation Club! Practice presenting a talk/poster of your choice with the JHPDA Research Presentation Club! Receive feedback from a friendly audience of fellow postdocs and graduate students. Each month’s event also features valuable tips from an expert in presentation skills.

Not yet ready for a talk? Come and listen to a fellow postdoc practice over lunch (provided!) and help out by providing feedback.
