[1] CASE STUDY OF BOUNING BALL

IN 2D AND 3D

IN 2D

From assignment of Bouncing ball, we got knew that what is timing and spacing….

Timing of movement depend on what’s type of ball material  like metal ball ,rubber ball etc.

Space and timing:

Whenever space is big between two images of ball then it’s make look fast movement of ball to illustration.

If we want to make slow move of ball from one place to another than put more key between .

If throw the rubber ball on ground it gets the squash whenever hit the ground and it gets the stretch  just before to hit on ground and also stretch the ball just after hit  …

Extreme Pose and key between:

Extreme pose means that what move from which place to another place.

Key between means that putting keys between poses. to make movement smooth.

Where we need to put key between and why?

Where volume of things [here volume of ball whenever hit on ground] changed or if we want to make slow move than we need to add more keys between Extreme-poses

WHY STRETCH AND SQUASH used?

Because it’s give appeal that what type of material ball have in bouncing ball and weight of ball.

Arcs

In bouncing ball, wenever hit on the ground  it will create arc and after hiting ball also create a arc .

IN 3D

I have taken one snapshot which give us idea that how we can set extreme poses in 3D software.

[look below snapshot of one 3d software to make bouncing ball]

In this example of once time bouncing ball, I have put three extremes poses to make motion…. After taking these e-poses it will take automatic motion it will look like V-shape-path-of –action motion …but I have set timing and spacing and squash and stretch to make realism of ball …otherwise it will look like robotic bouncing ball or  metal ball

keybetween

Bouncing ball in3D which is same as 2D. but different is that we need to add key-between manually in 2D…

[Snapshot of bouncing ball in 3D soft.]

But 3D software will take motion between extreme poses automaticaly ..but whenever we want to make squash ,stretch etc than we need to set manually …like below bouncing ball in 3D software.

Arc in graph editor

Arcs same as in 2D bouncing ball…..but in 3D software we can see arcs in graph-editor ….[arcs between extreme poses to make motion]

Timing and spacing In 3D software

We can see timeline to set timing of motion and spacing to make fast motion or slow motion between poses.

Squash and stretch

For making Squash and stretch to ball in 3D soft… we need to make keybetween and give squash and stretch to ball to make believe of bouncing ball about of rubber ball material[rubber ball]

That’s for it’s save time than 2D animation [cell animation].But whenever we want to make squash or stretch to ball or character or object than we need to put key-between in   motion.

They are many options we have in 3d software like ghost active [means that we can see the where key frames putted   in motion], graph editors [to set timing and spacing] etc.

Suggestion: first of all …just study about bouncing ball in paper…..after paper planning we have got idea that how to distribute spaces in timeline….
