Introduction

Jack Morrison knew he wasn’t slated to remain in the calm midwest of Indiana, so at 18, he packed up and joined the military. After time spent in a special program that augmented his speed and strength, Morrison joined Overwatch to help subdue the Omnic Crisis. Put under the leadership of Reyes, the two battle hardened men became fast friends.

Unfortunately, Morrison was ultimately made Overwatch’s first official commander following the Omnic Crisis, an unintentional slight that Reyes would never forgive. While this rift grew secretly, festering backstage, Morrison was busy travelling the world, promoting peace and serving as a symbol of hope and promise.

Decades later, Overwatch was made unstable by a series of allegations eventually culminating in a battle between Reyes and Morrison. Following a hard fight and an explosion, it was assumed Morrison was dead.

Until there came reports of a vigilante known only as Soldier: 76 stealing Overwatch tech. His new purpose? To discover who was behind the fall of Overwatch and bring justice to those that ruined his peace.

@TheMasterDS’s Choices

This Soldier 76 build is a multi-class hero which can either be made into a powerful ranged assassin who runs downs his foes relentlessly and ruthlessly or a fast and capable ranged support who keeps his team fighting with timely heals and incredibly daring saves. The trade off is basically between the Soldier 76 we know and love from Overwatch the game, and the Soldier 76 from "Hero" who'd save a life even if the bad guys got away.

His trait is Heavy Pulse Rifle. Like Tracer Soldier 76 can move and shoot, however Soldier 76's bullets hit the first target in the line of fire. This is to compensate for the power of his auto attacks. When laning against enemies he always needs to seek out the angle where he has the shot on his foes, which he does with his ability to move and shoot as well as his sprint.
- One possible talent is Flanker: Soldier 76 does double damage to mages/archers if he attacks them while the melee minions are still alive.
- Another possible talent that could augment this ability is Action Jump: Leap into the air for .75 seconds. You are unstoppable during this jump and you shoot over any obstacles.

His Q is Helix Rockets. This is a skillshot which fires off a trio of rockets in a direction until it hits a foe or a wall, at which point it explodes in a small AOE dealing moderate damage. This can damage Soldier 76 if used too closely. This ability gives Soldier 76 a little burst which can help seal the deal when whittling down foes.
- A possible talent for this is Back in my day: Helix Rockets move slower, but deliver more damage over a larger area.

His W is Biotic Field. This is a plantable AOE heal (Maybe 25% bigger radius than Auriel's heal) which heals a small amount over 5 seconds.
-A possible talent for this is Unstable Field: The radius of the field increases until it hits double size 4 seconds into its 5 second duration.
-Another possible talent (likely at same tier as above) is Not Dead Yet: Field heals 150% extra for allies under 25% health.
-A third talent for this tier is Old Dog, New Trick: Soldier 76 can now place the biotic field anywhere within line of sight. Additionally, the first second of the heal heals an extra 150%

His E is Sprint. This allows Soldier 76 to get around the teamfight without losing his stride. Soldier 76 can not shoot while he's sprinting.
-Possible talent Knock Me Down: While sprinting the duration of stuns, slows, and roots against your Hero are reduced by 75%. (Possibly same tier as Action Jump)

Heroic One (Assassin Heroic) is Tactical Visor.
-Puts on visor
-Auto attack power increased 15%
-Helix Rocket cooldown reduced 35%
When activated your auto attack range is increased, your rate of fire increased & bullets ignore obstacles. Medium-long cooldown.

Heroic Two (Support Heroic) is Old Habits Die Hard.
-Outfit gains real battle damage from heroic deeds
-Health increased 25%
-Biotic Field cooldown reduced 35%
With this you may dive onto another hero and protect them with your body for up to 2 seconds. The target is unstoppable and protected while you do this. Medium Short cooldown- close to Taunt or Colossus Smash.

Role

Support

Trait- “Everyone, heal up.”

Making Soldier: 76 a support character is not as hard as it sounds. Already in his Overwatch Kit he has a healing ability and it really comes in handy for the team. In this Heroes of the Storm Kit I am going to focus on him being a support character- of course in reality he would probably have the same kit that he has in overwatch in Heroes of the Storm. In this build he would augment the healing fountains on the battlefield- allowing everyone that drinks from a friendly healing fountain an increased heal. Imagine that he “spiked” all the healing fountains with the same chemical in the biotic healing ability.

Mount-  Payload (Rides on the front in a bad ass pose)

Q- “And stay down.”

This is Soldier: 76’s Helix rocket attack- He fires a rocket at the enemy- but these rockets have been engineered to heal friendly characters as well. Similar to Uther’s Holy Radiance when fired at the enemy team they take damage from the explosion- but if there happen to be friendly team mates in the area they will be healed by the explosion. The goal would be to maximize the use of the rocket to do damage as well as heal with every launch.

W- “We're all soldiers now.”

When activated Soldier:76 has the ability to inspire all close heroes to gain a sprint. They all have increased movement speed- more that what Ragnaros has with his escape but of course it wouldn't have the damage associated with it like Ragnaros. This ability can be used to help the team escape from a tough situation or chase down a vulnerable target.

E- “Biotic Field” Featured Forger Ability

This is a plantable AOE heal (Maybe 25% bigger radius than Auriel's heal) which heals a small amount over 5 seconds.
-A possible talent for this is
Unstable Field: The radius of the field increases until it hits double size 4 seconds into its 5 second duration.
-Another possible talent (likely at same tier as above) is
Not Dead Yet: Field heals 150% extra for allies under 25% health.
-A third talent for this tier is
Old Dog, New Trick: Soldier 76 can now place the biotic field anywhere within line of sight. Additionally, the first second of the heal heals an extra 150%

Heroic 1- “Not dead yet.”

This ability is a resurrection for mercenary camps. When this ability is taken after a camp is defeated (friend or foe) a small icon appears on the map. If Soldier:76 stands on the icon and activates this it will resurrect the camp and it will start pushing in the direction of the enemy team (even if it was an enemy camp) This will be on a shorter cooldown for heroics and be able to used to help change the tide of battle- it can be talented into at lvl 20 to allow the player to resurrect a Boss. (maybe…)

Heroic 2- “Should've kept your head down.”

This is a heroic that when activated and has a timer. Soldier:76 places a “mark” on one  of the enemy team members with more than 80% health left. If the friendly team manages to take down that hero all heroes in the area will receive a large heal as well as a mana regen. The trick is that the enemy players know who is “marked” and would try to have that player escape to negate the heal.

Name

        N/A

Role

        Assassin

Trait

From Man to Machine

Overwatch’s heroes all have a story. Soldier: 76’s is one of man to machine. At the start, you are a typical assassin but as you level, you gain super speed and super strength as you transition from Morrison to Soldier: 76.

Mount

        Racing Bike

Morrison would do the one legged turn and then take off.

Q

Helix Rockets - Featured Forger Ability

This is a skillshot which fires off a trio of rockets in a direction until it hits a foe or a wall, at which point it explodes in a small AOE dealing moderate damage. This can damage Soldier 76 if used too closely. This ability gives Soldier 76 a little burst which can help seal the deal when whittling down foes.

A possible talent for this is Back in My Day: Helix Rockets move slower, but deliver more damage over a larger area.

W

Superior Reflexes

Activate this to dodge basic attacks and abilities. Unlike other dodges that negate damage entirely, this dodge physically shifts you around and you bob and weave in whatever direction you’re moving. You can fire other abilities during this.

E

Through Pain, Strength

The less health Morrison has, the less damage basic attacks and abilities do to him.

R1

Tactical Visor - Featured Forger Ability

R2

        In a Past Life

Reyes and Morrison used to be the best of friends. It wasn’t until Reyes was overlooked that a schism formed. Hearkening back to the good ol’ days, Morrison calls for backup. Reyes joins the skirmish, controlled by Morrison and forever performing his “die, die, die”. This gives Morrison a wide area of damage he can use to close in on enemies.

Skin

        Robo-soldier

Part man. Part machine. All soldier.

Dance

        The Robot

The dance gets better as he becomes more machine than man.
