  1.  The teacher will talk about families and family members.
  2. Show representations of families to the children such as photographs of my family, or other pictures of families from magazines.
  3. Explain that these are all families because they belong to one another.
  4. The teacher will talk about her family.
  5.  Talk about small and large families and include various generations.
  6. Distribute Activity Page 11.

  8. Compare Lisa’s family size with Tom’s family size.
  9. Have the children glue five popsicle sticks into the shape of a house on the paper.
  10. Have the children stamp one circle for every family member in their family.
  11. Have the children name each family member in their portrait and tell what that family member is important in their family.
