Manhood
The concept of manhood in my mind is different than most. It’s not about guns or politics; it’s not about tough guys or movies about tough guys. It’s not about beer drinking or the latest in craft brews. It’s not about leading big groups of men or thumping my chest and being dominant.
Manhood is about ...
- a committed relationship with one woman (his wife).
- providing for his family in exceptional ways.
- being a loving dad who fathers his children well.
- gently leading his family in safe and productive ways.
- loving others the way he dreams of being loved.
Manhood means ...
- being consistent in love, humility, mercy and justice
- putting others needs above his own - living simply
- acquiring a great deal of wisdom and applying it aptly
- responding to all situations with a gentle calmness - unrattled.
