Community Guidelines

Our Motto

mrmr.social's vision is to build an authentic and safe place for information, inspiration and expression. For this purpose, we have created the Community Guidelines so that you can help us protect this community and foster a fruitful and respectable experience. The safety and well-being of students in our communities is our top priority.

If you see content that you believe violates any of these Guidelines, please click the flag icon on any post to report it. By using mrmr.social, you agree to these Guidelines.

General Rule: Explicit, antagonistic, false, misleading, harmful, hateful, or violent content or behaviour is not permitted on mrmr.social. Depending on how much harm such content/behaviour does, we may remove, limit, or block the distribution of such content and the accounts, persons, groups, and domains that create or spread it.

Posting Personal Information.

We don’t allow personal information—so please don’t share a community member’s name or other personal information, including- names, nicknames, photos, phone numbers, addresses, emails, social media handles, identifying descriptions, and any other information that could potentially be used to identify someone.

Be kind and play nice.

We're a global community of students from many walks of life who all have the right to be comfortable and who may not think, believe, or view things the same way you do. So, in your dealings with other members, kindly be respectful and courteous. We remove content that contains serious threats or hate speech, content that degrades or shames individuals, personal information used to blackmail or harass someone, and communications that are sent repeatedly.

Don’t be a bully. No Personal Attacks.

mrmr.social is not a venue for you to harass, abuse, impersonate, spam, spread rumours, insult, name-call, shame, or intimidate others. So, be polite and respectful in your interactions with other users. Support each other! Report if you see bullying and harassment.

Big no to hate speech.

mrmr.social has a zero-tolerance policy towards attacking a person or group based on, but is not limited to, race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, disease, age, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity.

No racism and bigotry.

We don’t allow content that perpetuates the oppression of marginalized communities by promoting discrimination against (or hatred toward) certain groups of people.

Drugs, alcohol, and harmful activity- NO!

Remember to always follow the law. It’s okay to discuss the use of drugs and alcohol—just don’t try to buy or sell them (even if it’s legal). Surely, we don’t allow posts about participation in illegal activities, including asking for help committing a crime.

Respect others Intellect.

Respect the intellectual property of others. This means don’t steal photos or videos or content in general, that other people have shared and pass them off as your own.

No nudity and sexual content.

We know that there are times when people might want to share nude images that are artistic or creative in nature, but for a variety of reasons, we don’t allow nudity on mrmr.social, and the same shall be deleted/ taken action upon if posted. We have zero tolerance when it comes to sharing sexual content, especially involving minors or threatening to post intimate images of others.

Minors.

We are deeply committed to protecting those under the age of 18. Any content referencing minors is moderated with significantly greater caution and severity.

Avoid spamming and be genuine.

We don’t allow repeat posts or malicious links. It’s fine to promote campus events or local businesses.

Be wise when posting informative content.

We remove false and misleading information, whether or not it was posted with the intention of deceiving others.

No trolls allowed.

We want our users to have fun on the platform—just not at others’ expense. We remove bad-faith posts that seem designed to agitate other users, even if other policy violations aren’t present. It’s still totally fine to troll us, though.

Enjoy mrmr.social!

This is your community. Celebrate your creativity, interact with others, express what matters to you play by the rules, find your herd, and broaden your horizons by seeing the world through the eyes of mrmr.social!

In Crux, maybe mrmr.social isn't for you if you don't think you can follow our Community Guidelines. Overstepping these boundaries may result in deleted content, suspended accounts and/or other restrictions. For more information, take a look at our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

These Guidelines are not exhaustive, and we will remove content that we believe has a negative impact on the community. Thank you for helping us create one of the best communities in the world.
