All Federal and State mandated tests require a 95% participation rate, or face penalties, such as loss of funding and drop in accreditation rating. Parents have the power to opt their child out of tests, but districts are still held negatively responsible for those home decisions.

1 ELA is an acronym standing for “English Language Arts”. PARCC is an acronym for “Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers”. 3rd grade will have 3 sessions (75, 90, 90min); 4th and 5th grades will have 3

2 3rd—5th grades will have 3 session 60min each; 6th—8th grades will have 3 sessions 80min each; 9th grade will have 3 sessions 90min each.

3 CMAS is an acronym standing for “Colorado Measures of Academic Success”. Both CMAS Science and Social Studies will have 3 sessions 80 min each.

4 The Social Studies exam is given once per grade span (Grades 4th and 7th) every 3 years. Salida  not chosent this year.

5 This test is required in earlier grades to determine students reading ability and is utilized through 5th grade to inform instructional choices.

6 This test is being piloted to see if it can inform instruction in the absence of a stable state assessment system.
