Subject: Egregiously Edited Political Ad in TX-23
On background, I wanted to flag an example of an egregiously false political ad against Rep. Will Hurd in TX-23 by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Pete Gallego. The ad asserts that Hurd supports Donald Trump’s plan to build a wall across the southern border and uses a clearly truncated clip of Hurd from an appearance on MSNBC. However, the editing is incredibly egregious, as Hurd makes clear he opposes Trump’s plan to build a wall “from sea to shining sea.” In fact, MSNBC titles the segment “Texas congressman refutes Trump's wall idea.”
You can see the ad here:

And you can see the full MSNBC segment here: http://www.msnbc.com/morning-joe/watch/texas-congressman-refutes-trumps-wall-idea-520884291875
Is this something you think you’d like to look into further?
