16th April, 1931.

Dear Sir,

In reply to your letter of to-day’s date enclosing a list of the names of reigning monarchs,[1] Mr. de Laszlo desires me to let you know that he has painted portraits of the following:–

The King of Sweden [8017],

Queen Marie of Roumania [3200],

King Edward VII [7705], and Queen Alexandra [7707],

King Ferdinand of Bulgaria [3937] and his Queen [3715],

  ”     Boris          ”        ”   when a baby [3712].

Queen of the Belgians [7870],

The Prince of Monaco [7899], and the hereditary Princess [7908],

Ex-Queen [Elisabeta of Greece?] [possibly 3270]

Queen Helen of Roumania [4221].

Mr. de Laszlo would be glad to hear from you as to whether all the photographs of the Spanish Royal Family, which he sent you to-day, will be reproduced. If those of the King in Hussar uniform [12400], and of the Queen in black [12398], are reproduced Mr. de Laszlo would be glad if you would kindly state under the reproductions that the pictures are the property of the Spanish nation and are hung in the National Gallery in Madrid; also that they were painted three years ago during Mr. de Laszlo’s visit to Spain.

Yours faithfully,

Secretary.
