Banner Advertising on TexasISD.com
(Horizontal & Vertical Left Side)

TexasISD.com is delighted to offer banner advertising as our newest opportunity to participate in our continued market growth. Since our inception in 1995 we have continued to see increases in traffic on TexasISD.com. A typical day sees between 4,000 & 5,000 unique users mostly spiking in the morning hours.  The trend is that traffic is typically highest early in the week and declines toward Friday then Monday it is back up again.  Anyone in the school business can sort of relate to how a typical week progresses.  Our traffic is very high during legislative session and finance lawsuit times as well as during bond and TRE election cycles.

Organization:

After much research regarding advertising and analysis of the TexasISD.com user base we have concluded that due to the extremely high level of returning users on a day to day basis we can use a rotating program and get multiple product exposures to users and be just as effective for each advertiser. Horizontal, Top of the Page Banner spots are available at a cost of $150 per ad per month. Vertical Left hand banner spots are available at a cost of $200 per ad per month.  It is possible for one entity to purchase more than one spot (I will limit 2 spaces per customer and will reconsider if interest and availability dictate). To avoid over extending ad space ad spots will be limited to 10 ad spots at any given time.

Ads are rotated on the pageload which means that ever time TexasISD.com is loaded by a user one of those ten potential banners loads at the top of the page. Each banner is loaded in a rotation so that no one banner is loaded more than another. The banner will stay running on the top of the page until the user leaves the page or reloads the page.

Billing & Terms:

Billing will be monthly and partial months will be billed on a prorated basis. Banner advertising invoiced and billed as soon as the advertiser emails me confirming the start date and the duration of their advertising commitment. Billing will be subject to Net/30 terms. With a 10 % penalty for any payment not postmarked within the term period. TexasISD.com will need to be notified no later than 5 days prior to termination date if an advertiser wishes to extend advertising. Extensions for campaigns are only available when no other advertiser(s) have filled the available position(s). As of this time TexasISD.com doesn’t accept credit cards. If your organization requires a Purchase Order number to be included on the invoice, it is up to you to provide us with a PO number in a timely manner. Invoices requiring P.O. numbers will be dated at the time of commitment.

Banner Specifications (Horizontal):

We have standardized our advertising specifications to bring them into IAB standard. Banner Ad specifications are 728 x 90 IMU and Maximum Size of 40k.  IAB also dictates a maximum :15 for an animated loop.  In our application that is a good suggestion, but not a requirement. Specifications not mentioned here default to the IAB guidelines found at the IAB website. No ads will be accepted that float over other TexasISD.com content, logos or advertisers. No ads will be accepted that create unsolicited audio on a users computer. Advertisers may choose to host their banner ad in their own web space. If this is your choice, TexasISD.com won’t be responsible for operation of the ad and once the ad is running, notification is required prior to changing the content of a remotely hosted ad. Advertisers are responsible for developing their own ads. File types supported are GIF, JPG and PNG. Flash files are no longer supported due to their incompatibility with many browsers without additional plugins as well as being unsupported by many mobile platforms and browsers.

Banner Specifications (Vertical Left Side):

Enforcement:

TexasISD.com has put in place these and other policies to ensure that all advertisers are treated fair and equally. If in any case special considerations are needed, it is the prerogative of TexasISD.com to suspend any or part of these policies in order to facilitate the needs of our advertisers while keeping in mind the necessity of equality and fairness to our other advertisers. This doesn’t extend to the point of infringing on currently running or pre-paid advertisements without reimbursement to the advertiser on a daily prorated scale.

Any violation of these policies, whether intentional or other wise, could result in the immediate termination of advertising and forfeiture of payments for said advertising. It is totally at the discretion of TexasISD.com to handle these situations on a case by case basis. These policies are subject to change without notification. Please review them regularly. It is sometimes necessary to change in order to maintain TexasISD.com as the leader in this field.

Send all ads as attachments to advertising@texasisd.com when you are ready. Remember while our site works best on Google Chrome, it should be functional on Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer (MSIE), it is important in all cases to stay with the most current version of the browser available. That said, many users don’t keep their browser versions up so beware of using techniques unique to a browser or very new options as some reader may not experience your ad in the way you intended.

Explanation of Pricing:
Position #1 through #5 have a unique pricing schedule that steps down from position to position. Availability of these positions is extremely rare and when available will be handled in a separate manner than our general advertising. If you are interested in these spaces you may contact us but if there is currently an advertiser in the space it is spoken for indefinitely. Should one of these spaces become available first opportunity is given to current advertisers before it is opened up to the general public. In reality to have any hope of accessing one of these positions one would need to be a current advertiser in the lower portion already.

Positions #6 through #30 are $65 per month. The same ads will appear on the Today’s News (TexasISD.com main page) and are the default ads on categorical pages. This also excludes TexasISD’s Lone Finalist subscription publication which is separate from TexasISD.com.

*Moving up in position in spots 6 through 25 is done strictly by attrition. In positions 1 through 5 should a spot become available we send an email to the billing contact person on the account to advertise the vacancy and the price. The first person to contact us will be given the spot. Within the first 24 hours current advertisers will be given preference after that it is open to anyone. You will only be eligible to move up if your account is in good standing.

*All ads include the opportunity to provide articles, and/or links to your site in “TODAY’S NEWS” highlighting research, or work you are doing that could be beneficial to Texas School Administrators. Also, advertising gives you the option to list event in our bulletin boad section. TexasISD.com will review all submissions and determine when they will be posted.

These policies are subject to change without notice. Please check back frequently. As TexasISD.com evolves, so must our advertising policies.

Thank You,

Joshua Smith
