0.4.0 - The Half-Baked Fixer Upper Update!
[WIP] : Marks items that are in the process of being worked on. If it does not have this tag, it is finished and in the update.
The original goal with this update was quests, quests, quests. With FTB no longer approving updates themselves, the modpack has to comply with Twitch rules to receive updates!
So this update is only about half finished, but since folks are starting to have downloading issues, I figured I would release it in the current state and make the pack properly compliant!
BE SURE TO UPDATE THE LEDGER WITH THE FIRMWARE UPDATE QUEST!
(Future updates can be done with a single button in the main Better Questing menu!)
- The FTB launcher no longer accepts modpack updates, and thus old FTB packs are no longer grandfathered in with the old modpack rules. Some mods are changing, others will be removed to comply with Twitch’s modpack rules (otherwise I can't update the pack!)
- Fluxed Crystals 2

0.2.6 - The Slightly Fixed Amoking… Update!
[WIP] : Marks items that are in the process of being worked on. If it does not have this tag, it is finished and in the update.
This update is primarily bug fixes and workarounds for issues, along with a few quests.
- Small mod adding customizable bags I can add to loot tables or as prizes.
- The temporary workaround introduced last version has been reverted, and a different workaround implemented.
- You no longer have to swap to the TFB Corporate Catalog to purchase Draconic Evolution items or trade in Job Chips, Shop Tokens, or Trader chits.
- Repeatable quests will instead run a command to reset themselves (and only for that player for those that play on servers).
- A known bug will cause the quest to VERY RARELY auto complete itself. This is known, and much more acceptable than the previous workaround.
- Job Chips, Shop Tokens, and Trader Chits can now be exchanged in a SAGMill for Coins and Blind Bag rewards, equivalent to the quests in the Ferret Resources Department quest page.
- These items now have more tooltip text to explain this.
- Fixed the SAGMill issue where Job Chips, Shop Tokens, Trader Chits, Researchology Materials, and Coins could not be exchanged.
- [FRD] FERRET RESOURCES DEPARTMENT
- All quests that should be repeatable now reset themselves when completed.
- This will not reset progress.
- All quests that should be repeatable now reset themselves when completed.
- This will not reset progress.
- RF Quests have been hidden due to a bug, and will be removed next version as the Better Questing RF Addon will not be getting updates for this version of minecraft.
- All quests that should be repeatable now reset themselves when completed.
- This will not reset progress.
- Covers the Cooking for Blockheads mod!
- Removed “Important Note” Quest detailing the old workaround.
- All quests that should be repeatable now reset themselves when completed.
- This will not reset progress.
- [H]SPECIAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE
- Renamed to ADMINISTRATIVE BACKUP
- The quests in this section will remain as backup methods in case the Draconic Evolution or Exchange Rate quests break in BQ2
- They shouldn’t, but removing these quests could force another round of ‘delete hqm progress to fix world crashes’, which I would like to avoid
- Unhid all scan quests to explain what item is needed to unlock that block of items.
- 2 New Bags (1 Cheap, 1 Decent)
- Internal bag has been replaced. MineFactory Reloaded Plastic Bag replaced with new mod Goody Bag Grand Prize Bag
- This is due to Minefactory Reloaded and most other inventory storage solutions saved the ItemID (#3819) instead of the more useful ModID (minecraft:stone). New worlds, adding, and removing mods can shuffle the ItemID number around
- Fixed the SAGMill issue where crates could not be exchanged.

0.2.5 - The Amok, Amok, Amok! Update
[WIP] : Marks items that are in the process of being worked on. If it does not have this tag, it is finished and in the update.
- I will be using this to add new blocks and a few other things.
- jglrxavpok's Uncrafting Table
- Replacement for the now-disabled Twilight Forest Uncrafting Table
- IMPORTANT TEMPORARY CHANGES
- All repeatable quests (Chip/Token/Chits, Exchange Token, Draconic Evolution quests) have been turned into single-time quests to work around a bug.
- New shop items have been added to the Corporate Catalogue to replace the Repeatable portions of these.
- When you obtain an Exchange Token or Draconic Evolution items, be sure to open your TFB Corporate Catalog to unlock more items for repeat purchase
- If this is not fixed by next release, I will create a better workaround.
- Tooltips and quest text has been added to note use of either the EnderIO SAG Mill or the TFB Corporate Catalog workarounds
- Many Minetweaker scripts have been reworked and broken down into Mod Specific files (especially FMC value scripts). This makes it easier for folks to remove a mod and not have as much hassle from scripts breaking.
- It is still not suggested to remove a mod, but this change is included to help those trying to diagnose problems or are waiting for an update.
- Job Chips, Shop Tokens, and Trader Chits can now be exchanged in a SAGMill for Coins and Blind Bag rewards, equivalent to the quests in the Ferret Resources Department quest page.
- These items now have more tooltip text to explain this.
- With the updates to Better Questing, text formatting should now work properly both in single and multiplayer. I have gone through to fix the existing formatting, and have started to add more.
- INITIAL RESEARCH
- QUEST TABLET FIRMWARE UPDATE
- Removed repeatability
- Added command to reset itself when claimed (only for the player that claimed it)
- FERRET RESOURCES DEPARTMENT
- Changing all quests to non-repeatable to work around a current issue with them. The following changes are being implemented as workarounds :

- Exchange Tokens : Unknown yet
- Changing all quests to non-repeatable to work around a current issue with them. The following changes are being implemented as workarounds :
- Job Chips, Shop Tokens, Trader Chits : Can be traded for money in a SAGMill
- 10 new RF Submission Quests (2 for each tier)
- Repeatable RF Submission Tasks do not work in a way I’m pleased with, so they are being replaced. Each tier can be done 3 times.
- One reason for this change as well is because high levels of RF Generation are not too difficult to achieve.
- Questline Complete : 23 new quests to finish the questline
- This brings the questline to 37 quests
- Added Vibration Chamber task
- Questline Complete : 45 new quests
- Unhid multiple quests required for progress in this questline.
- This was a goof on my part because of the hard drive crash. They were hidden before last update (placeholder quests were used instead), but I forgot to unhide them after catching back up on the update.

- Purchase a Coven Witch spawn egg with some Shop Vouchers and some ritual ingredients
- Purchase a Hobgoblin spawn egg

- Now renamed to [H] Special and Administrative
- All temporary repeatable quests have been added here.
- Added Ferret Business Survey Rewards Blind Bag
- This is from the big survey I held over a year ago, but am only now getting to adding it as a blind bag
- There are over 100 different items in this bag. It is a mix of all Blind Bag Tiers.
- It will drop in the Good tier due to some items being worth over 100,000 FMC
- Added 10 new Applied Energistics 2 Blind Bags
- 7 Cheap, 1 Decent, 1 Good, 1 Amazing
- Added 2 new Compact Storage Blind Bags
- Added 13 new Witchery Blind Bags
- 9 Cheap, 2 Decent, 1 Good, 1 Amazing
- New Icons Added : Compact Storage, Witchery
- You no longer have to hover mouse over the contract, which was causing some confusion due to unclear delineators
- Now uses Ferret Blocks compressed blocks for larger values
- Reworked every contract to use the 3x3 crafting table instead of the Ferret Workbench
- Removed the ‘item type’ designation from all FMC valued items. Instead of FMC (=50= | Furniture), it will simply be FMC (=50=)
- This was part of an early design idea that never panned out.
- Added Tooltips to some Shiny/Platinum and Ferrous/Nickel materials, to note that they are the same things with different names (Shiny is also known as Platinum, while Ferrous is also known as Nickel, depending on which mod is using them)
- Added tooltips to Exchange Tokens to mention their duplicability

- Lowered Steel Ore FMC value from 500 to 400

A smaller patch, focusing on fixing bugs and rebalancing many issues..
- A good utility mod that provides some extra functionality to server owners amongst other things.
- An NEI addon to help with bee breeding, show genetic lines and hints on how to breed them.
- A decent backup utility but it can have issues. FTB Utilities includes a backup function as well
- Core mod for Aroma Backup, no longer needed
- Unfortunately, YAMPST is being discontinued, so it is as well being removed from the pack, since it relies on online servers to send login messages and statistics.
- FLUXED CRYSTALS 2 FORK (now known as Fluxed Crystals 2 - Ferret Edition)
- Since updates to the 1.7.10 version of FC2 have pretty much stopped, community member TheBlueTroll has forked the project and fixed some various issues with it.
- Thanks to FTB Utilities, there is now a built in guidebook for the modpack, that doesn’t rely on an actual inventory item. For now, the guidebook will only cover a bit about the Supply Contract system, but it will be expanded in the future.
- The receptionist has upgraded from Sticky Notes to a full sheet of paper to summarize important info and changes.
- You can now craft Order Forms, which can be combined in an Alloy Smelter with Shop Vouchers to purchase Ores. This makes Ore purchasing automatable
- You will NOT receive Shop Loyalty points using the Automation system yet. This will be coming in the future.
- This system will be expanded in the future to include other Shop items.
- Bag of Coins to Coins crafting
- You can now craft a Bag of Coins into 50 Coins in a crafting table for automation purposes.

- Minefactory Reloaded and Thaumcraft Blind Bags have not been rebalanced yet. This will come next patch.
- Cheap - 10,000 FMC
- Decent - 50,000 FMC
- Good - 200,000 FMC
- Amazing - All values higher.
- The repopulation of blind bags should fix missing and broken items in all current bags.
- Most currently FMC-Valued mods have been rebalanced. Many items are worth less or more than they did previously
- FMC-Values for Thaumcraft and related mods have not been rebalanced yet.
- Some of the smaller tiers have been condensed into other tiers. They are now as follows :
- 0.25
- 0.5
- 1
- 2
- 5
- 10
- 25
- 50
- 100
- Every 100 up to 500
- Every 500 up to 100,000
- Every 1,000 from there
- The Ferret Business Mega Packager has been renamed to the Ferret Business Workbench
- All FMC values under 100 can only be crated with themselves to reach higher tiers.
- An empty crate is required for any sub-1,000 FMC grouping.
- Combining multiple 1k+ crates does not require an empty crate.
- Sub-1,000 cratings can be done in either the Ferret Business Workbench or a Crafting Bench. 1k+ crates can be combined in either as well.
- Items worth 1k or higher alone can only be crated in a normal crafting bench, due to a limitation of the Aviritia crafting table.

0.1.3 - The Balance of Ledgers Update
The second part of the Balance Update, this will focus balancing many mods upper level items (Digital Miner, Big Reactors, etc), all of the Supply and Production Contracts, and maybe add some small questlines. It will also remove some mods and clean some things up to help the pack run better.
- A Star Trek inspired mod, which contains powerful technology, but balanced with how much time and effort it requires.
- Simple mod that adds utility catwalks that are easy to transverse.
- Find a wide variety of dog breeds in the world, and tame them as pets.
- Birds Birds Birds. Find them, tame them, cook them, eat them.
- GoG adds a slew of creatures, both helpful and dangerous.
- Updates Binnie’s Mods to the new Forestry.
- Most of this mod is disabled, and only the 9x9 crafting table is used.
- Solar Flux with Solar Expansion
- Solar Flux is good but fairly limited. In part of giving more balanced options for power generation, it is being replaced with Solar Expansion, which has a lot more tiers and a balanced material requirement.
- Given the results of the major survey and a lot of discussions, both with my internal team and the community, it is time to say goodbye to one of the oldest mods in the pack. A feeling of being unfinished, an odd growing tedium with it, and various other issues made it one of the least played and most requested mods to be removed.
- This mod is an addon for IC2. The RF Energy equivalent is already in the pack : Solar Flux
- This mod is wonderful, but better suited toward lightweight, more vanilla based packs.
- A mostly cosmetic mod, this was one of the ones voted down in the major survey alongside IC2. It is being dropped due to that and the size of its load profile on the pack.
- Multiple creatures from this mod have been disabled, and more would have been this update. Due to the mod not being updated for a while, it is being replaced.
- Binnie’s Mods (Better Trees, Bees, and more)
- With the addition of Binnies Patcher, this mod can be re-added to give bee fanatics even more to do.
- A fork of the original Opis, this removes the Mapwriter and makes it functional in newer forge versions. Useful for tracking down if something is causing lag in your world.
- Added script to fix Magic Bees Botania Flowers courtesy of thephoenixlodge!
- Magic Bees Botania FLowers still take Mana Petals, though they were removed a little while ago. This makes the Magic Bees flowers craftable again.
- Replaced missing items with Field Boots and Pants
- Updated side text to reflect changes
- Replaced missing item with Field Cap
- Replaced missing item with Field Tunic
- Updated main text to hint players toward the Corporate Shop and Supply and Demand if they have no coins.
- Name changed to To Boldly Go

- Changed requirement from nothing to 1 of any wood plank.

- Formerly the Supply and Production Contract system
- The Supply/Production contract system has been combined and completely reworked.
- Almost every item has a Ferret Market Cost(FMC) value, and can be crated and shipped for profit.
- Items are split into 15 types :
- Accessories
- Armor
- Building Supplies
- Components
- Food
- Furniture
- Home and Work Decor
- Machines
- Magic
- Materials
- Misc
- Thematic Decor
- Tools
- Toys
- Weapons
- The rarer the materials and more components an item has, the more lucrative it can be.
- Fill crates with lower value items to reach 1,000 FMC. Trade this crate in for 1 Silver Coin, or combine it with other crates to reach up to 100,000 FMC crate, the highest value.
- Every 5,000 FMC value a crate is worth will earn you a Trader Chit, which can be combined and turned in as normal for Trader rank and more profit.
- The following mods have most of their items ‘priced’ in the new system. More will be added over time. Mods not listed here may have some items priced, due to their usage as materials or components.
- Bibliocraft
- Botania
- Chisel
- EnderIO
- Extra Utilities
- Minecraft
- Natura
- Thaumcraft
- Thaumic Exploration
- Thaumic Tinkering
- New System, located in [H]Large Scale Orders
- Contracts can drop from most mobs rarely.
- Each one calls for a number of items, combining up to a given value for that contract’s Tier.
- Items requested fall into a few categories :
- Specific items (5 iron swords)
- Items of a specific type (5 swords)
- Item types of a value range (5 swords worth between 1,000 and 3,000 FMC)
- Combine the contract and all requested items in the new Ferret Mega Packager.
- Turn in the completed contract to the QUEST Tablet, for a reward based on Tier.
- Item Value : ~10,000 FMC
- Payout : 13 Silver Coins, 2 Trader Tokens (130% value)
- Item Value : ~50,000 FMC
- Payout : 75 Silver Coins, 15 Trader Tokens (150% value)
- Item Value : ~500,000 FMC
- Payout : 875 Silver Coins, 175 Trader Tokens (175% value)
- Item Value : ~2,000,000 FMC
- Payout : 4,000 Silver Coins, 800 Trader Tokens (200% value)
- There will only be a few contracts to start with, but many many more will be added over time.
- FERRET BATTERY CHANGES
- Ferret Batteries are taking a heavy change, since they will not be considered a completely separate supply type like before
- Recipe changed : Now takes 1 Redstone Dust, 4 Tin Nuggets, 4 Glass; creates 64 Batteries
- Each tier takes only 50,000 RF Energy to reach, and can be ‘charged’ via Alloy Smelter OR Thermal Expansion Redstone Furnace.
- Every 50,000 RF equals 50 FMC
- Batteries can be crated in Machine and Tech contracts.
- New System, located in [H]Large Scale Orders

0.1.1 - The World Update
The focus of this update is to further stabilize the pack, change world gen, and a slew of other things.
- Automatically backs up worlds on timed interval. Helps you recover worlds from catastrophic failure.
- Simple, upgradeable storage system.
- Adds a variety of items to both ComputerCraft and OpenComputers
- Replacement for Magical Crops, containing a more balanced system. Magical Crops will not be removed until later.
- Add on mod for the computer mods ComputerCraft and OpenComputers
- Alternate to ComputerCraft, with many similar items and some different ones.
- Adds a wide variety of animals and creatures to liven up the fauna of the worlds
- Realistic World Generation
- Replaces Biomes O Plenty. Creates a more realistic, larger biome generation, without adding tons of items that have very little use.
- Variable sized drawers for storing items.
- This was not included in the update for some odd reason, most likely I goofed switching mods around and forgot to leave it in. My fault! It will be in 0.1.2!
- Tiny mod that fixes a few HQM issues
- Tiny mod that fixes an issue in Steve’s Carts
- Lycanites has some issues. Many of its mobs ignore enemy/friendly type designations and spawn rules. It has been replaced with Project Zulu.
- While this is the standard world gen mod, it adds too many new biomes, and a lot of items that aren’t very useful and as well as being difficult to find. Replaced with Realistic World Generation.
- A wonderful mod, but the pack needs to be pruned slightly, and the focus on more cross-mod capable mods.
- With Lycanites being removed, there’s little need for this mod now, since it was added primarily to add monster head variety.
- This will probably return later, but right now it has issues that cause the game to crash when loading.
- WAILA Plugins (TEMPORARY)
- Crashes now due to Magical Crops issue. Since Magical Crops is being removed in 0.1.2, this will only be removed temporarily.
- With the Chisel team splitting into two separate forks, we’re going to follow the Chisel 1 team which is not focusing as much on 1.8 additions. No big changes should be noticeable other than new blocks.
- Exchange Rate quests no longer give Shop Loyalty reputation
- Exchange Rate Quests now give Exchange Tokens, which can be used in an Alloy Smelter from EnderIO to automatically convert coins into Shop Vouchers.
- All purchasable items now give more Shop Loyalty reputation, based on number of vouchers an item costs
- For now, every 20 vouchers an item costs equals one Shop Loyalty reputation point.
- Removed Biome Essence crates..
- Removed Exploration Material crates.
- Temporarily disabled RFTools Dimlet Crates, due to removal of many Biomes requiring a rebuild of the Crate loot table.
- The ability to purchase Magical Crops has been disabled. Convert seeds to equivalent Fluxed Crystals before next version!
- Removed Precious Ores 2 and 3, and Ender Amethyst crate from Precious Ores 1
- Renamed Precious Ores 1 to Precious Ores
- Added Bottle o’ Enchanting
- SUPPLY AND PRODUCTION CONTRACTS
- Changed Icons for Seed Supply and Inexpensive Plant Supply
- Fixed side text on Redeem Manyullyn and Awakened Draconium Chit quests.
- Extreme Magic Seed Exchange
- Now asks for the proper supply crate instead of super cheap vouchers.
