CLASS ROOM:        All summer classes meet in room 510  at Memorial High School

PARENT MEETING:        Parent(s) / Guardian(s) AND students are encouraged and EXPECTED to attend the evening parent meeting held before the beginning of each driver education course. This is considered the first class meeting so attendance for students will be taken.  We want to make sure all parts of the team; driver educator/student/family are working together to ensure maximum learning benefit during the limited time we have to obtain course objectives for a safer future.  Information concerning directed practice, the classroom and behind-the-wheel phases of the Traffic Safety Education Program as well as expectations will be explained during the meeting.

IN-CAR LESSONS:        Students will receive ten (10)  hours of guided behind-the-wheel instruction and six (6) hours of active observation. In-car lessons are scheduled with the driver instructor.  It is strongly recommended that students receive four (4) hours of guided driving practice with parent(s) for every one-hour in-car driving lesson.  The driving portion may extend beyond the scheduled classroom session to allow sufficient practice time for students and parents.

FOR CONCERNS:         Contact Michael Dubisz  at mdubisz@mansd.org or 361-2537 for all questions and/or concerns.
