World Geography Syllabus

Students will not be issued a World Geography textbook.  We will use a classroom set & will be accessing the online textbook. Students will be able to access the textbook anytime by clicking on the hrw.com icon on their chromebook.  We will use Google Classroom for many assignments.

All students will need to join a World Geography Google Classroom.  The class code for each class is below:

Students will need to have a World Geography folder to keep all notes and work in.  This folder will be checked periodically for a daily grade.  The folder should have all notes, maps, projects, classwork, homework, study sheets, quizzes and tests.

Grading - Test grades and projects will be worth 50% of the 6 weeks grade.  The remaining 50% will consist of classwork, homework, quizzes, and participation.  Any late work will continue to be accepted up to the Monday of the last week of each six weeks grading period with a 30 point penalty on the score achieved by the student.  If a student receives a failing grade on any work they have the opportunity to do a re-take or make corrections (whichever Coach Finnell decides) to raise their grade to a maximum of 70%.  Any incorrect information will result in a grade lower than 70%.  

Students are responsible for initiating a conversation with Coach Finnell concerning any work or information they may have missed when absent.  Work not returned in a timely manner will result in a zero. Anytime a student is absent they need to check Google Classroom for what they missed in class.
