Boom! Flash! Rumble! In the backseat of the car, I was watching Judy playing a game on her phone. I peered outside the car window and shivered. ‘This thunder and lightning storm is very worrying, because it’s getting louder!’ I thought.

We were waiting for my Aunt's delayed flight from China and we were all very worried. Arriving at the carpark at 5:30pm, my Aunt’s flight was supposed to arrive at 5:13pm. Instead, as it got darker, her flight was delayed from 5:13pm to 6:00pm, from 6:00pm to 6:30pm, and so on to 7:24pm because of the lightning strikes. The plane had to take several big loops around the airport to avoid the lightning strikes, so we ended up waiting in the car for more than 2 hours! At 7:24pm we finally went in the airport, and I was grateful for that because I felt safer in an indoor area. Inside the airport, while we were waiting for my Aunt to come out of the ‘International Arrivals’, Judy and I window-shopped the indoor stores nearby. At 8:00pm sharp, my Aunt came out of the ‘International Arrivals’. Soon, we were on our drive home. Luckily, I was tired so I fell asleep, missing the rest of the lightning strikes of the night!
