‘together we are stronger’

What’s happened this week ?

The Sea Sanctuary opening Event

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Tuesday to celebrate the opening of the newly completed Sea Sanctuary Garden. After our celebratory guest Mr Alan Gray cut the ribbon and announced the garden open the children performed their very own choreographed country dance to the live folk band ‘The Occasional Ceilidh.’

This was followed by a selection of parent and child craft and nature trail activities.

Finally what better way to finish the afternoon than with a delicious cream and jam filled scone and coffee and a chat. There was such an amazing buzz and community feel around our school I feel privileged to be part of it.

Things to remember

Our third Mathemagician Event coming soon!

Theme: Division

Tuesday 16th May @9:05-11:15 Parents welcomed into school to see the strategies used for division and join your child in class. The last one which took place last half term morning and focused on multiplication was very positively received. The ‘making a counting stick’ workshop session seemed to go down particularly well.

Monday 8th May -Thursday 11th May is year 6 SATs week. Miss Peck and I will be running a special breakfast club which all year 6 are invited to attend for free. Children should arrive for 8:00 and will be able to chose from a selection of cereals, toast, crumpets and juice before Miss Peck completes some last minute revision and warm up sessions with those children who attend.

Breakfast club for all other year groups will operate as normal in the hall.

Congratulations to Mrs Lawrence who will be leaving us at May half term to take up a new job at Cliff Park Junior School in Great Yarmouth.

I would like to say an enormous thank you to Mrs Lawrence for her hardwork and dedication here at Bacton Primary and wish her the very best for the future.

We will say our final goodbyes to Mrs Lawrence in our end of half term good work assembly.
