Did you know? (post from Reflections Newsletter-April)
With Google Search, you can sort your search results by the reading level of the pages? What a wonderful way to accommodate students with various reading levels in your classes! Have a student who needs to do more in depth research because their reading level is off the charts? Or, do you have a student who would learn more if the reading level of the research was within their grasp? Google Search can sort the results for you!
It’s easy to do:
Open your browser and go to Google, type your search term in the search box (I typed abraham lincoln).
Step 1: On the results page, click on “Search Tools.”
Step 2: Click on the Drop Down next to “All Results” and choose “Reading Level.”
The results will then be sorted by reading level of the web pages, simply click on the level you are looking for and only those results will be shown.
