JOHN M. KERR MEMORIAL BURSARY AWARD
Each year The Imperial Sovereign Court of the Wild Rose grants bursary awards to students of the LGBTQ2S+ community in any accredited post-secondary education program within the Province of Alberta.
The Bursary Fund is supported through ongoing fundraising efforts by the Court and is managed by the ISCWR Board of Directors.
Bursaries are usually in the amount of $500-$750 but will vary depending on the number of recipients and raised funds. Recipients of an award are notified of their successful application via email and cheques will be mailed out at the end of August 2026.
Applications for awards must be received by the ISCWR no later than 11:59pm, Sunday, June 28th, 2026. Applications must be complete, and all requested information must be included with the application upon submission.

- Minimum of two reference letters you feel may enhance your application (Required)
- Verification of Student Enrollment (Required)
Please provide ONE of the following:
a) a copy of your class schedule showing all registered classes. The document must show your name, your educational institution and the term each schedule is for. The schedules can be a screen shot from your student web account. OR
b) an official letter or form, on letterhead, from your institution showing that you are enrolled full-time for the applied academic year.
*Post-secondary acceptance letters do not fulfill this requirement. Do not submit your application with an acceptance letter, your application will be marked as incomplete and not move forward to the monarchs.

I do understand and acknowledge that the John M. Kerr Memorial Bursary is intended to further the education of LGBTQ+ students in the Province of Alberta and that I qualify to receive an award on this basis. I further agree that the money received from this bursary will be used to continue my education and if for any reason I do not continue with my education will return the full amount of the bursary.
