Students should register at the assigned time for the grade completed during the 2014-2015 school year.

When a class is registered to full capacity, registration will be closed for that class. Tuition will be due at registration. All students registering must have a form filled out by their guidance counselor and signed by the principal. If Credit Recovery is offered during Summer School, the guidelines for Credit Recovery used during the regular school year will apply during Summer School.
Summer school is open only to Smith County residents.
Full credit tuition is $100.00; one-half credit is $50.00.
TUITION IS NON-REFUNDABLE. All checks should be made payable to the Smith County School System. Students on free or reduced lunch can have their tuition fees waived for course credit
SUMMER SCHOOL CRITERIA
No new credits will be offered unless a course is needed for graduation or for special circumstances as determined by the school’s principal and guidance counselor stated by letter to the superintendent regarding the specific requests. Superintendent’s approval is required. Hardship cases will be given consideration to seniors who have not met graduation requirements as per verification from the principal and/or guidance counselor.
Summer school is governed by the State Department of Education guidelines. Certified teachers will teach classes. Materials used during the regular year will be used. Students will be expected to follow all rules and regulations established by the school administration in order to receive credit. Students must attend the entire length of the course.
All time missed must be made up. Assignments not completed will be sufficient reason for failure. A student will be allowed a maximum of no more than 7 hours made-up during both semesters. Time missed beyond this will automatically result in failure due to poor attendance. Misbehavior will result in a student being dismissed for the summer term.
8 DAY POLICY MAKE-UPS
Make-up days will be offered to those students who passed a subject during the regular school year, but who missed over the allowable number of days. Cost is $10.00 per make-up hour. The necessary form must be filled out by the teacher(s) and signed by the school’s principal/guidance counselor.
Parents are responsible for transportation and sack lunches.
