Dear Mr. de Laszlo,

I quite understand what you say regarding Sir Robert Gresley’s account, but I think the items which make it up are essentially ones that he ought to bear, given the fact that we received direct instructions from him.[1] But let me thank you for your letter I received this morning,[2] and though I am rather occupied at the moment, if you would allow me to ring you up, I would let you know what afternoon I could come and take tea with you, for I can assure you that I am looking forward very much to having a chat with you.

We have written to-day to Sir Charles Markham[3] and I hope to let you know in a day or two that the honorarium is to hand [4730]. It is rather strange that he has ignored your letters, and on the face of it, it seems somewhat discourteous.

I hope you are keeping well, and with kind remembrances,

Yours sincerely,

W.P. Winchester
