Youth Ministry Proposal

Proposed Project Title: Ministering From the Heart

Spiritual Principles:

Sow and Reap: God’s plan to provide for our lives

God’s plan to cause His will to reproduce after His kind.

Stewardship: God’s plan to fulfill our lives.

God’s plan to cause His will to produce an abundance.

Objective: To teach the youth the true purpose of ministering and to teach them how to use their gifts to glorify the Lord, both in church and outside of the church.

Format:

Phase 1:

Youth Perfecting Class (Class 1)

Class 1: Class for youth that teaches about the functional gifts (Romans 12:1-8). Youth should learn what the functional gifts are, how to identify what their gifts are, and how to use them to operate in ministry. In addition, they should know what the purpose of ministering through song, dance, or drill is. Distinctions should be made between performing and ministering/serving.

(Minister/M.I.T. could lead this class)

Class 2: Purpose of Youth Ministry (IHIL and Chosen Generation) within the church. What is the vision and expectations of the youth ministry? How can their gifts fit into this ministry?

(Ministry Head could lead this class)

Phase 2:

Day 1: Gifts Workshop

Objective: Ministry heads and youth workers will work with youth to develop a piece to minister that reflects their gifts and glorifies Jesus Christ. Youth must develop pieces that reflect this year’s theme. They will also be taught how to develop and format ideas and proposals to contribute to youth ministry. Ask youth to search scripture as a means to back their proposals.

Day 2: Gifts Workshop

Objective: Continue developing pieces

Day 3: Gifts Workshop

Objective: Continue developing pieces

Phase 3:

Youth Ministry From the Heart Program

Objective: Have youth minister their gifts through a program presented to the church. Ask for a small donation to go toward the youth ministry. This is something that we could do every year, especially as more children come to the ministry.
