To whom it may concern:

My name is Jane Doe and I am requesting an advance parole document (I-131) to study abroad to Italy through the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).  The program will begin on June 23-September 4 however, on the application I have requested additional days one week before the program starts (June 16) and one week after the program ends (September 11). (request how many days you deem necessary to settle yourself and not violate your parole, it is their decision but they take into consideration your request)The reason for the additional days is because I need to settle in before my program, for instance, my living conditions and to familiarize myself with my surroundings.  Upon return I need at least 7 days after the program so I can come back to the United States with no danger of violating my documents, just in case an unfortunate event happens upon my return to the United States.  Therefore I am requesting June 16 to September 11 for Advance Parole.  As a student at UCLA I will like to study abroad for the enrichment of experiencing another culture and also to satisfy my major.

I am enclosing the following documents:

Kindly approve my application for Advance Parole.

Thank you very much,

Jane Doe
