K-2 ELA Team

Elementary ELA team for grades k-2 will work with Dawn August to complete CCSS units of study.

All other K-3 teachers

1. NECAP analysis-district trends, own school performance and patterns, plans for moving forward (ex. use of released items with students) (as staff or by grade levels with principal)


2. Intervention planning with grade level teams and/or specialists as needed


3. Intervention documentation and communication with parents regarding intervention as needed


World languages 9-12

Analyze data from the mid-year exams by language and level.  Each team will also review their SLO’s and begin to consider what assessments will be needed as we begin the SLO process next year.

6-12 Engineering/Tech

Continued work towards our professional goal (designing and implementing interactive class websites)

Music K-12

Collaborative work on their SLOs and PGP. Discussion topics will include the use of new counting language and its impact on rhythmic literacy. We will also share our new and improved websites and X2 pages (for upper level) with the department and work to make them all equally user friendly and consistent

  • Review and debrief midterm assessments

6-12 Librarians

Further develop LibGuides to support improved organization of library digital resources and expanded communication on the web for students and faculty.

Begin the overview of the AASL/Common Core Crosswalk for grades 6-12.

K-5 Librarians

Collaborate and review the SLO progress and consider what

assessments/data they would like to use or need to begin the SLO process in September.

 This discussion will include an overview of the AASL/Common Core Crosswalk for grades K-5

MS Science

Share Grade Level results of crosswalk of current GLEs with NGSS as a department.  Make note of gaps and begin determining sequencing of concepts/skills by grade.

Begin/continue researching science articles for Quarter 3 close read.  Use template to create student reading with vocabulary, questions, and teacher answer key.  Develop writing component for students to complete after reading.

Exploring student driven learning versus teacher guided learning.

This exploratory workshop will be a hands-on experience focusing on two very different modes of learning culminating in a group discussion to reflect upon the experience and examine how both learning modalities can be incorporated in the classroom.

Collaborative Lesson Development


This will be a collaborative time to research, develop, and experiment with new lesson ideas.

ELA 6-8

Continued work on development of units of study/curriculum writing.  Discussion of SLO post assessment in spring following baseline assessment from Sept. 2012.

Team based construction of proficiency tests for lat March/April

PE Health K-12

Donna Cerio and Lauren Birrell Graham- Review and revise their assessment for 4th grade PYPM.  Develop an assessment for 5th grade PYPM.


Mike Gesmondi and Stuart Moran-Coordinate their SLO procedures and collect and review data/statistics from their baseline testing to use towards next years baseline test.


Corey Downey, JP Medeiros, Holly Morris, Justine Boisvert, Michaela Kenwood (high school)- Collect and review date from fitness testing in the fall. Develop a grading system for students performance on fitness testing in the spring based on their scores in the fall. We will use the Presidential Fitness tiers to base our grading.


Bill McCagney, Annmarie Marino, Bill Letizia-  Collecting data from fitness tests in the fall to use towards the testing in the spring and next fall. Also, will develop a performance based grading system.


Jane Iodice and Nick Guadagno- Review and revise their baseline tests that they gave in the fall. The data collection will allow to make an improved assessment in 6th, 7th and 8th grade health.

MS Special Education (HS Special Education w/ their General Education Depts.)
