we don’t want to trouble you or the Duc de Guiche^[1] so you must telephone “no” if it wouldn’t be convenient.

[1] Antoine XII-Armand de Gramont, styled duc de Guiche [11801], married the Comtesse Greffulhe’s daughter, Elaine Greffulhe [8804]. The duc was one of de László’s closest friends and supporters. He often lent de László his studio at 42 bis Avenue Henri-Martin, where, over the years, many distinguished portraits were painted.
