20th April, 1931
My dear Sam,
It is only to-day I have had an opportunity to acknowledge your letter of the 15th.[1]
I do hope that your offer of Lucien Simon’s picture of the Tate Gallery will be accepted, and I shall look forward to hearing what the reply will be.[2]
On the afternoon of the 22nd I am receiving the Jury at the R.B.A. Galleries who will decide on the Medals,[3] and as Mr. Manson[4] is a Member of the Jury no doubt he will have your proposed gift in mind. I sincerely trust that the fine work will remain in the Tate Gallery.
