I was excited to learn that for this post we would be exploring Google Drive since I was recently introduced to it by a professor and was amazed by all that it can do!

First off I think its both genius and relieving to know that as I am typing or creating ANYTHING in Google Drive, it is saving my work.  I can’t begin to tell you the number of times I have lost papers because of some malfunction with my computer.  In Google Drive I don’t have to constantly stop and save my work because it does it for me!

Secondly I like that I can access my forms, documents, pictures, spreadsheets from any computer by just logging on to my gmail account.  This removes the need for thumb drives, discs or any tangible method of storing files.

Google drive is basically like a free, BETTER form of Microsoft Office.  For Mac users who are debating whether or not to make the steep purchase to buy this software I would advise them to just use Google Drive instead! The reason I say Google Drive is better than Microsoft Office is because of its very useful ability to share files.

I'm a graduate assistant here at APSU and one of the professors I work with uses Google drive to share tests, take attendance and just recently she shared a form with her students so they could sign up for their research topics.  The students were able to see which topics had already been picked and the professor was able to see which students had signed up for a topic.
