Fire Chief Brian R. Legendre

Fire Chief Brian Legendre was appointed to the fire department as a call firefighter January 4th, 1989. He was appointed to a career position July 4, 1993. Chief Legendre made his way through the ranks, becoming Lieutenant in January of 2000, then promoted to Deputy Chief in March of 2002. Four years later, in 2006, he became Fire Chief. He holds the following certifications FF I/II, Fire Instructor, Fire Inspector I, Fire Inspector II, Fire Officer I, Fire Officer II, Safety Officer, Hazmat Technician, Scuba Diver and was the first Paramedic for the department. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science from Providence College, and is a graduate of the Chief Fire Officers Program, UMass Donahue Institute. Chief Legendre was among the first Chief Officers in the Commonwealth to be credentialed as a Fire Chief In 2010.

Deputy Fire Chief Allen N. Manley Jr.

As a third generation firefighter Deputy Manley follows both his parents and his grandfather as a fire officer.  He began his fire service career in 1979 as a call firefighter with the Dartmouth Fire District No. 2, becoming a career member of the Westport Fire Department in 1985. Deputy Manley was promoted to Lieutenant in 1999 working as the Shift Commander for Group 1 until he was promoted to Deputy Fire Chief in 2006. He holds an Associate Degree in Fire Science from Bristol Community College. He became the first Westport firefighter to become a nationally Certified Firefighter Level I/II in 1990 and is certified as a Fire Officer I & II, Fire Instructor I and is an Emergency Medical Technician - Intermediate.  He is a 1997 graduate of the Chief Fire Officer Management Training Program, UMass Donahue Institute. In 2013 he became the first Deputy Fire Chief in Massachusetts to receive Chief Officer credentialing from the Commonwealth. Deputy Manley is an instructor for the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy and Bristol Community College.

Administrative Assistant Terry Vaillancourt

Beginning as a part time clerk for the Westport Fire Department in 1989 and becoming full time in 2001 Terry became the department’s Administrative Assistant in 2011. Terry is no stranger to the Fire Service, her husband is a retired Lieutenant of the Fall River Fire Department and her son Chad is a call member of Westport.  Terry has an Associate degree in Business Administration from Bristol Community College and an LPN Certificate from Diman Regional School of Practical Nursing.

Department awards include; Education and Meritorious Service.

Captain Bruce Martin

Captain Martin began his fire service career as a Call firefighter with Dartmouth Fire District No. 3 in 1985. He was appointed as a Career Firefighter in Westport in 1997. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2006 and Captain in 2007; he is the Shift Commander for Group 2. He is a Certified Firefighter I/II, Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I, Haz-Mat Technician and is an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic. Captain Martin is a member of the Department's Honor Guard & the State Hazardous Material Team.

Tiverton FD Commendation and Life Saving.

Captain Michael Silvia

Captain Silvia followed in his father’s footsteps when he joined the department as a call firefighter in 1974.  In 1978 he was appointed to a career position working as one of the first EMTs to serve the Town. He was appointed to the rank of Lieutenant in 2003 and Captain in 2007. He holds an Associate Degree in Fire Science from Bristol Community College.  He is the shift Commander for Group 1.

Lieutenant Brian Beaulieu

Lt. Beaulieu joined the department in 1987 as a call firefighter and was appointed as a career member in 1993. In 2006 he was promoted to Lieutenant and is the Shift Commander of Group 4. He is an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic and also serves as the Deputy Director of EMA for the Town.

and 2 Life Saving Awards.

Lieutenant Daniel K. Baldwin

Lt. Baldwin joined the department as a call firefighter in 1995 and was appointed as a career member in 2004. Promoted to Lieutenant in 2011 he is the Shift Commander for Group 3. He is an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic and a member of the Fire Department Honor Guard. LT. Baldwin was the First Firefighter to receive the Firefighter of the Year Award in 2007.

Firefighter of the Year 2007, 2 Life Saving awards.

Lieutenant Daniel Ledoux

Lt. Ledoux became a Call Firefighter in 1987 and was appointed as a career member in 1991. He is an Emergency Medical Technician – Intermediate. He holds an Associate Degree in Fire Science from Bristol Community College.  He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2007. He serves as the Fire Prevention Officer for the Department.

Firefighter/EMT Raymond E. Benoit

Firefighter Benoit is a second generation Firefighter for the Town. He became a call firefighter in 1985 and a career member in 1988. He is a Nationally Certified Firefighter Level I/II. In 2008 he was selected as Firefighter of the Year.

Department awards include; Achievement, Firefighter of the Year 2008, Life Saving.

Firefighter/EMTP Glenn Nunes

Firefighter Nunes joined the department as a call firefighter in 1994 and was appointed to a career position in 1997. He has served as the department’s Emergency Medical Services Officer since 2010.

Firefighter/EMTP Keith Nickelson

Firefighter Nickelson is a second generation firefighter who began as a call firefighter in 1994. He was appointed as a career member in 1999. Firefighter Nickelson serves as a member of the department's Training Team.

Firefighter/EMTP Matthew Cowell

Firefighter Cowell is a second generation firefighter who began as a call firefighter in 1990. He was appointed as a career member in 1999.

Firefighter/EMTP Denis Pelland

Firefighter Pelland joined the department as a call firefighter in 1998 and was appointed to a career position in 1999.

 and Life Saving.

Firefighter/EMTP Darren Nunes

Firefighter Nunes joined the department as a call firefighter in 1997 and was appointed to a career position in 2000. FF Nunes was instrumental in organizing and training the Department’s Honor Guard Unit which is recognized as one of the finest Fire Department Units in the area. He was selected as Firefighter of the Year in 2010.

 Firefighter of the Year 2010 and 2 Life Saving Awards.

Firefighter/EMTP Mark Brisk

Firefighter Brisk joined the department as a call firefighter in 2000 and was appointed to a career position in 2003. He is a certified Haz-Mat Tech, a member of the Fire Department Honor Guard and a member of the department Training Team.

Firefighter/EMTP Paul Duhon

Firefighter Duhon joined the department as a call firefighter in 1997 and was appointed to a career position in 2003. Firefighter Duhon received the Chiefs Cross in 2008 for his work in preserving the history of the Westport Fire Department. Firefighter Duhon is also a Registered Nurse.

Firefighter/EMTP Anthony Ward

Firefighter Ward joined the department as a call firefighter in 2000 and was appointed to a career position in 2006. He is an active member of the Bristol County Technical Rescue Team, the Westport Dive/Recovery Team a member of the Fire Department Honor Guard and Training Team.

Department awards include; Achievement, Tiverton FD Commendation and Life Saving.

Firefighter/EMTP Andrew Ferrarini

Firefighter Ferrarini joined the department as a call firefighter in 2005 and was appointed to a career position in 2006 and is a member of the Fire Department Honor Guard.

Firefighter/EMTP Andrew Raymond

Firefighter Raymond joined the department as a call firefighter in 2005 and was appointed to a career position in 2009.

Firefighter Raymond is also a Registered Nurse.

Department awards include; Achievement and 3 Life Saving Awards.

Firefighter/EMTP Robert Porawski

Firefighter Porawski joined the department as a call firefighter in 2008 and was appointed to a career position in 2012. He received the Firefighter of the Year Award in 2009 and Paramedic of the Year for the Greater Fall River Emergency Medical Services in 2012.

Department awards include; Achievement, Firefighter of the Year 2009 and Life Saving.

Firefighter/EMTP Ann Marie Peckham

Firefighter Peckham joined the department as a career firefighter in 2015 after serving 8 years with the Somerset Fire Department.

She started her fire service career as a junior firefighter with Dartmouth Fire District No. 2.

Firefighter/EMTP Michael Teixeira  

Firefighter Teixeira joined the department as a call firefighter serving from 2005 to 2011 following his father as a second generation firefighter for the Town.

He was appointed as a Career Firefighter in 2016.

Firefighter/EMTP Robert Greene

Firefighter Greene  joined the department as a career firefighter in 2016. He started his fire service career as a firefighter with Dartmouth Fire District No. 3

Firefighter/Paramedic Christopher Caswell

Firefighter Caswell has been serving as a Call member since 2005 and was appointed to a career position in 2017.

Call Firefighters

Lt. William Baraby

Lt. Baraby joined the department as a Call Firefighter in 1978 and was appointed to a career position in 1983. Retiring from the career department in 1999 he continues to serve as an arson investigator for the department.

Firefighter/EMT Kenneth Reilly

Firefighter Reilly has been serving as a Call member since 1979.

Firefighter/EMT Brian Souza

Firefighter Souza began as a call firefighter for the Department in 1984 and was appointed to a career position in 1987,  retiring to call firefighter in 2017. He is a certified Car Seat Technician and was instrumental in developing the Town's car seat program whereby community members can have car seats installed free of charge.

Firefighter Vien has been serving as a Call member since 2002.

Firefighter MacKay has been serving as a Call member since 2002.

Firefighter Vaillancourt a second generation firefighter has been serving as a Call member since 2002.
