Position: Set Up and Tear Down
This position supports the smooth running of the entire convention. Please review the “General Information” document for a full description of expectations for all InCON volunteers.
This individual will report directly to Alex and/or Courtney - referred to as the ‘volunteer managers’ (position: Organizing Committee Member - Volunteer Managers)
There are 2 venues that will require set-up and tear-down. Each specific room or area will have a floor plan/map or description of how it must be set up. This will include the number of tables and chairs required, and any other equipment that must be in the room.
Set up is a very important part of the convention! The team responsible for this will receive a ‘map’ for each room/area and will work with the building staff to get the tables, chairs and other required equipment from the appropriate storage areas to the rooms they must be set up in. Using the floor plan/map, the team will set up the room according to the floor plan provided.
For tear down the team will work quickly and efficiently to gather all items and bring them to the area(s) specified by the building staff. Please remember about recycling materials, or saving things like signs that can be used in future years.
The ‘Set-Up and Tear-Down’ Team must be able to take direction well, work effectively as a team and yet be able to work independently as required. This is a physically demanding position so these individuals must be able to perform heavy lifting and moving as required.
