Accomplishments:
In the New York Auto Insurance world fraud is prevalent. One of the ways fraudulent providers attacked us was by using different billing names and addresses to bill for services. We would delay payment to investigate the establishment only to find out later they were owned by someone we had previously investigated making our delay improper and forcing us to pay all their bills. The vendor table redesign created a different verification process using the vendor name, vendor address and vendor TIN# to run a check against all other items in the system, prior to delaying the bill. Awarded the AutoOne Insurance Bravo Award in 2006 for the design and implementation of this vendor identification table.
