Chrome and G Suite Resources for Education

Social Studies Resources for K-12 Teachers and Students

We hope that everyone approaches these resources with the mindset that a digital tool is only valuable if it enhances the student learning experience. We always recommend that you know your why before focusing on the how or the what. The best digital resources engage students in the 4 C's of collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking. The ISTE Standards are another great resource for building a mindset that connects content to essential digital skills.

Document Objective: The goals connected to the creation of this document is to help teachers and students explore digital resources that can enhance teaching and learning in Social Studies Classrooms. These Web Resources, Chrome OS Web Apps, Chrome Extensions, Google Drive Add-ons, and Drive Apps have been recommended by our PLN to enhance engagement and inspire curiosity in Social Studies Classrooms.

Navigation: We’ve organized the resources in different categories selected by our Social Studies teachers. To view the Categories. click on ‘View’ in the menu above to turn on the ‘Document Outline’ on the left. The outline categories are linked to each section of the document.

Additional Web Resources and G Suite Tools for teachers and students can be found linked on the Wicked EdTech Site. The Google Chrome Webstore also supports keyword searches for additional Chrome Apps and Extensions connected to educational content.

Common Sense Media is another great resource to explore digital resources for teaching and learning.
