 Can you name an outer body part?

  1. The teacher will explain and demonstrate how our bodies move.
  2. Ask: Can you name an outer body part? How can you move that body part?
  3. Have the children  perform and sing a song about  moveable body parts.
  4. Have the children sit very still.
  5. The teacher will explain that our outer body parts began to rest as soon as they stopped moving.
  6. Ask: Is everything inside our body  rest too when our outer body rest?
  7. The teacher will talk about what is happening inside our bodies.
  8. The teacher will help the children find their heartbeat by placing one hand on their left side of their chest.
  9. Ask: What makes the thumping? Is the beat slow or fast?
  10. Help the children find their pulse in their neck and wrist.
  11. The teacher will explain that outsides and insides of our bodies are made of facinating, moveable, and useable parts.

  6. Have the children identify the body part and glue it in the appropriate place.
