Why is mobile growing? 24/7 access. Ex: Parents can view school information as soon as they wake up, people can search symptoms before going to the doctors. Wi-Fi is widely available. The amount of connected devices are growing.
7/10 people in the UK own a smartphone. 60Million in the UK.

2.7 hours per day on mobile. More time than spent eating!
Mobile exceeds desktop between 5pm & 10pm.
Mobile in East Riding, huge growth in the past couple of years.
What did we do? Corporate wide approach to mobile.
Mobile website, native app, responsive design?? Choice is dependent on your specific needs
Responsive Design: One website, one set of content, works on all devices - content scales, could be developed in house, single URL.
Content transformation was needed to move to a responsive design.
We did lots of device testing, seeing how different users use each device.
User testing was key. What does the user need? Observe the user journey and track success

If it works well on a mobile, it should work well on all mobile devices.
Mobile first. Design from the mobile backwards (a facebook approach?). Its much easier to expand mobile to desktop rather than the other way around.

Volunteers can provide individual or group support.
We need to record interactions data and we need to manage this in a sensitive way.
