Dragon Football BBQ
The Dragon Football BBQ is Friday, August 18, at 6:00 pm at the Arkansas County Fairgrounds. If you are interested in purchasing a ticket, see any football player or Ms. Kim in the office. Tickets are $15 each. Go Dragons!
Plans are in place for DHS students to have the opportunity to view the rare solar eclipse on Monday, August 21. Signed permission slips must be received by 1st period Monday, August 21 to participate. See your first period teacher for a form. Students will be directed when and where to go to receive their safety glasses and view the eclipse according to the following schedule:
- 11th Grade: 12:50 - 1:05 pm
- 12th Grade: 1:15 - 1:30 pm
- 10th Grade: 1:40 - 1:55 pm
- 9th grade: 2:10 - 2:20 pm

DeWitt is a finalist in the State Farm Neighborhood Assist Program which grants $25,000 to worthy causes across the nation. And you can help! New state immunizations regulations require that every student must have a meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) by September 1 of the year they turn 16. If a student received the MCV4 prior to age 16 a second vaccine is required on or after their 16th birthday. Proof of this immunization wil be required at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year. The 2017 regular season kicks off on September 1 when the Dragons travel to Searcy to take on the Riverview Raiders. The senior high benefit game will be at Barton on August 22 beginning at 6:00.
