User Guide
- School Section (Charter & Traditional)
Requesting Access: |

- An NCID is required to have access to the NC DLMI. To get an NCID or for NCID information, please contact the NCID administrator for your LEAÂ or Charter School.
- If you already have an NCID, you can use it to subscribe to the DLMI by:
- Going to https://schools.nc.gov/ncdlmi
- Login with your NCID username and password
- Select the appropriate user role and fill in the information on the screen
- DPI Inquiry Only – DPI Staff only
- Region Inquiry Only – Instructional Regional Consultants Only
- LEA Administrator – The district administrator responsible of the district NC DLMI data
- LEA Inquiry Only – District level administrator with view-only access to NC DLMI data
- School Principal – Principals
- School Administrator – The school level user responsible for the school's NC DLMI data
- School Inquiry Only – School level user with view-only access for a school's NC DLMI data
- Charter School Administrator - The charter school user responsible for the charter school’s NC DLMI Data

- After the subscription has been approved, you will get an email notifying you of the approval. System updates may take a few hours to complete after approval.

| Logic has been built into the Left Navigation to track location and completion progress of the NC DLMI. - If the text is in ALL CAPS, this indicates the section you are completing.

104. - A teacher is anyone in a school employed as a certified teacher, no matter what the subject or how many classes he/she teaches. If a teacher is an itinerant teacher and spends more than half his/her time at a particular school, that school should count that teacher as his/her own. If the teacher spends 50% at two sites, each school may count the teacher as .5 on the school’s total teacher count. If the teacher travels to more than two schools, this teacher should be counted at where he/she is counted for payroll purposes.
105. Â - For question 107, input a count for personnel who serve in the role of instructional technology facilitator who have either a 077 or 079 license or who are not certified.
- LEAs may use another name for this position. Â The intention is to determine the number of instructional support personnel who specifically support digital teaching and learning efforts in the school. Â
- If an ITF is split between two schools, input the full time equivalent decimal that aligns to the time he/shek  spends in the schools.  For example, if an ITF is split between two schools each school would input .5.
- Do not count any personnel who are considered district level personnel and are counted on the LEA survey. Â
106. - 106 will only appear if a number is input in question 105.
107. - For question 107, input a count for personnel who serve in the role of school library media coordinator who have either a 076 license or who are not certified.
- If a SLMC is split between two schools, input the full time equivalent decimal that aligns to the time they spend in the schools. Â For example, if an SLMC is split between two schools each school would input .5.
- Do not count any personnel who are considered district level personnel and are counted on the LEA survey. Â
108. Â - 108 will only appear if a number in input in question 107.
109. - Do not input duplicate counts. Â We are looking for 3 separate positions. Â If an assistant does both instructional technology support and break/fix support, input that as a decimal equivalent. Â

School Technology |

- For this section, discuss the input of your answers with your LEA admin.
- As noted, these questions can be completed via the upload tab using a .csv file that can input all schools within the district at 1 time. Â
- For charter schools or small districts, answer can be input directly on this page and would, potentially, be a faster option.
- Question 202 was removed from the survey in the Spring of 2018. Â

207. Â - Indicate in which grades students students are issued individual devices.
- The devices going home row and insurance questions will only appear if you issue devices to at least one grade. Â
208. Â - Indicate the number of devices for each operating system for each data point.
- For rows 3 and 4:
- Indicate how many devices of each operating system are assigned to students and how many go home. Â
- These two rows should not have higher numbers than the total devices in the district.
- For the last section, we are asking for you to indicate the number of total devices from the first two rows of 208 that are laptops and desktops. Â Also, how many of those are touch screen. Â
- The tablets section is populated from question 212. Â

209. - Include the % for all devices in questions 208 and 212.
211. - Include the % for all devices in questions 210 and 213.

214. Â - Indicate if you have a bring your own device initiative for students, staff, or both.
215. Â - 215 will on appear if students or both are selected in 214.

217. - Please count any projectors that are traditional, interactive, mounted, or mobile. Â
- For interactive boards, only count electronic boards. Â
- If you have a projector and a connected interactive board, then include 1 in the count for the projector and 1 in the count for the board. Â
- If you have an interactive projector that does not require an electronic board to be interactive, then just count this as a projector and do not include in the board count. Â
- Casting devices refer to devices that wirelessly display student devices on a projector or television.  For example:  Apple TV’s, Chromecasts, Rokus, etc.
- Non Touch Screen TV: Â Count any television that is used for the purpose of instruction in a classroom.
- Touch Screen TV Panel: Â Count any monitor/television with touch screen capability that is used for an interactive teaching display. Â
217a. - Interactive classrooms are classrooms that include any interactive display system. Â This may include an interactive panel, touch screen television, interactive writeboard, etc. Â

220. Â - Indicate the number of full-time technicians assigned to this school. Â
- Do not duplicate counts with the LEA personnel page. Â If a technician is counted here, then it should not be counted at the LEA level. Â
- School level personnel should only be counted if they are paid out of school funds.
222. - Provide a valid hyperlink to an electronic version of your plan. Â
- If you do not have an electronic version, put NA.

223. - Indicate the percentage of students who have internet access at home. This number could be collected by a student or parent survey.

402. - 402 will only appear, if question yes is selected in 401.
- Local community partnership would be defined as any partnership with a local business/organization that provides free internet access for students at that location or place of business..
- Central wireless would be a partnership that provides internet access for a larger part of a community. Â For example: A city or town provides wifi for a portion of the downtown area. Â
404. - Indicate the online learning opportunities in your school by selecting X in those that apply.
- This question is asking what is available to your students. Â Place an x if your school has access to a paid version of the services even if paid for at a higher level, like the district office.

406. - Indicate which learning management systems the school is using. Â
- 406 will only appear if yes is selected in question 405. Â
